2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml bottle delivered from the brewery. An opaque golden hue with a thin white creamy head and good lacing. The aroma is ok; honey toasty malt but fairly scant regardless of temperature. Flavour is also a bit scant; sweet, with mild bitterness. Texture is a bit thin, light medium carbonation, long dry finish. This was just ok, I have made nicer home brew honey beers than this.
Bought in growler from the brewery. Reasonably hoppy but very easy drinking. Another good NZ Pilsner. Can’t quite taste the honey though. A little disappointing in the after taste - slightly flat - but overall a very pleasant beer. The wife (who doesnt usually like beer) loved this one, fwiw. Pours a very pale and clear gold with almost no head. Mild mineral aroma. No honey yet. Flavour is quite light up front with a mild minerally bitterness and not much else. The finish brings a mild honey flavour. Very light body and spritzy carbonation. Nice alternative to a mass market light lager. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 17, 2014
Maybe this was the go to beer I should have gone to after today’s cricket and lawn mowing session. It is golden yellow with a skim of white head. The aroma sings proudly of its honey component. This is not something I am usually a fan of, but it seems to work in spades. There is also lemongrass there as well. Considering the strength of the honey in the aroma, it is surprisingly well-balanced to the point of almost being restrained in the juicy flavour of this beer. It also becomes dry and lemon-like in the finish. I should have had this first. heyden (137) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 29, 2014
Light zingy citrus aroma. Clear pale filtered complexion. Very light to taste, hardly any hops or bitterness. The honey coming through late. Minimal after taste makes it very drinkable.Very light and sweet, not sure if I like the balance of it. But it’d be refreshing in summer. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 31, 2014
The head is medium, body blond. It smells honey, sweet, malty, aromatic. The taste is sweet, crispy, honey, aromatic, tasty & crispy.

Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. Faint aroma has some hints of caramel maltiness and slight citric/grassy hops. Clear, golden coloured beer with a white head. The taste is a bit grainy, slightly hoppy, light bitter and has a hint of honey. Rulymel (294) - SPAIN - NOV 5, 2013
In this case, we have a clear golden beer with a thin white head, which does not leave a good impression in the glass.
Slight aroma of cereal with notes of honey, but do not stand out either by intensity or character.
In the mouth we find a beer too common, much like a bland pilsner with a honey aftertaste forgettable. Maybe in summer, with hot temperature it can be more interesting, but I doubt that honey give refreshing tone needed. lisagirl (264) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 19, 2013
there is plenty of honey, but not much else. thin with a typical lagery base. drinkable enough, but you’d hope all that honey would be utilised for something more interesting. Pdubyah (733) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 22, 2013
Label says Pilsner, Web Site says Pilsner, this web site says Golden or Blonde Ale, tastes like a Wheat or Belgium beer. The heck. This is a beer that could put you seriously wrong in your thinking. I notice too that in various reviews that the ABV content wanders around like a lost person in a mall he said diplomatically. A minor tragedy. hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2013
12oz Bottle. Poured a yellow color with a white head. Some grainess, honey, and a trace of citrus.
