Aroma of malt and butterscotch, deep copper, small toffee head. Candied malt taste, treacle some hops are noted. Medium bodied, balanced, bitter, smooth, tasty. Very good. Thanks Torontoblue.

After pouring this beer was not as dark as I was expecting from the name. The head is a light brown color and the beer is similar to a cup of light coffee. The beer is fairly opaque. The beer smells malty and roasy with a hint of hops. The beer tastes malty and sweet, but not too sweet. There is a hint of bitterness in the background. The only complaint I have about this beer is that it leaves a bit of a funny taste in my mouth between sips. Other than that this is a pretty solid beer.

Dark copper pour, nice khaki head, hangs around a while. Sweet, candy like aroma - hints of chocolate, some candied sugar. Good nutty flavor, some chocolate, baked brown bread, full bodied flavor. Thickish mouthfeel. Solid Brown Ale - thanks to Aurelius for this one.

Fresh bottle from Western Mass. trip. Dark brown inviting with some white yeast lace, with malty and mollasses aroma. Above average carbonation otherwise tasty and very drinkable. A superior brown, recommended.

This beer came in my beer club - I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a medium sized fluffy tan head. The aroma was roasty with a light floral hop undertone. The flavor was bitter and roasty with a moderate floral hop element. The finish was longish, bitter and hoppy.

From bottle pours dark amber/brown with a fair amount of head. Nice roasted malt flavor, with a lingering aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours dark brown almost balck with a smallish head. Aromas of malts and some roastiness. FLavors of malts and faitrly aggressive hops that was a surprise. While drinking it seemed that the hoppiness mellowed a bit, but for a brown it was very hoppy.

Very nice beer. Aroma is mostly malt with some earthy hoppiness. Dark brown color with a nice head. Taste is complex with malt and hops fighting for control. Finishes very dry and refreshing. Worth a try.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy brown color with a medium light-brown head. Strong lacing. Aroma of chocolate, malt, and coffee. Flavor is malty with a strong coffee overtone. Not one of my favorite brown ales.

12 oz bottle via Malt of Earth Beer Club. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown with an average sized chunky beige head. Nose is toasted grains, a little vanilla, tofee and some spicy hops. Tastes just like it smells with a little added orange peel/grapefruit in the finish.
