Coffee and toasted malt dominate the aroma. The aroma is pleasant although somewhat too simple. The mouthfeel is good with acidity and malt well-balanced. The taste has strong coffee and roast flavors with some hops. Too little malt backbone for a truly good flavor. bigben873 (258) - Virginia, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Full-bodied, dark stout, hint of caramel and coffee. Smooth finish. Solid flavor. -March madness 2014 PorterPounder (8086) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Atlanta, Ga - Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits - 22 oz bomber. Bottle exploded upon opening (points off of overall for that) - Dark black pour - thick (too thick) and foamy off-white head that sticks around way too long. Aroma has some creosote and chocolate - nice. Flavor ha some nice espresso notes, some potting soil, a bit of bittersweet baker’s dark chocolate and a touch of licorice. Nice chalky mouthfeel. Pretty solid - just wish there was not so much carbonation on the pour - could only pour about two ounces at a time! scotchzombie (596) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Pours dark brown almost black with a creamy brown sugar-tan head that evokes the head of an ice cream soda. Wet natural lacing as the head fades to a finger or so. Aroma is rich roasted chocolate malts and a touch of oats. Taste is sweet chocolate malt and oatmeal into bitter roast coffee malt. Notes of ash to close. Really well-balanced between sweet and bitter. A quality oatmeal stout.

Aroma was somewhat confusing - wood, a cheesiness, roasted malt. Pour a brownish-black with a robust lasting espresso head and abundant lacing. Bittness is the dominate flavor. Burnt grain, burnt coffee, burnet wood. Medium body and excessive carbonation. Overall, too much burnt tast and too much carbonation. An oatmeal stout should be smoother and smoothness is not what this beer is about"

Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2013, Olympia, London Aug 2013 - Black in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, roasted barley, oatmeal, dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Hoppy; some balancing hop bitterness. Rich and smooth. Sweet bitter roast malty chocolaty and coffee throughout. Very drinkable. Nice Oatmeal Stout! rdixon77 (2876) - Georgia, USA - JAN 14, 2014
Rich, roasty, bitter oatmeal stout. Black thick pour with tan head. Aroma was ash, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste pretty much followed straight. Real malty. Oily feel. Pretty decent stuff. AdamT (268) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 14, 2014
12oz bottle from The Beer Store in Wilson. Black hue, zero visibility with fully lasting thick frothy caramel head. Fair lacing. Moderate coffee, chocolate, malt and alcohol aroma. Heavy bitter chocolate & coffee up front with a medium coffee & malt finish. Dry on the palate. I would drink this one again. drowland (8829) - Georgia, USA - JAN 12, 2014
1/12/13. 12oz bottle thanks to rdixon77. Black pour with a small tan head. Quite toasty on the aroma, ash, charcoal, some coffee and very dark chocolate. Ashy flavor, charcoal, coffee, straight up black malts. Slick mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Not bad. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 12, 2013
Black with some tannish foam. Initial nose comes through with good, strong oats and tootsie rolls, graham and some nice, nice cocoa. Nice nose. Slightly dry, coffee toned, grainy, oaty flavor up front with some nice bitterness on the back end. Nice malt character on this beer - so far soo good on this one. Thick and smooth with a lighter carb and semi dry character. Nice beer, really nice surprise.
