Our award-winning stout is rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. Its what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer. Makes a great dessert...or meal.

#17 of my Stouts of November: Dark brown hue with a good frothy tan head and excellent lace. Aroma hinted of nutty roasted malt, molasses, mocha, coffee, cereal, grassy and aromatic hops, smoke and cask wood. The taste was sweet upfront (you can notice the oats) with a followup of molasses like twang. The finish has a nice bitter bite which provided balance on the palate, some smoky undertone as well. Medium-bodied with a creamy and lively mouthfeel. Not as sweet as most oatmeal stouts. A hint of Imperial style. Nice sublime compexity, worthy of a go around.

Bottle at brunch. This gets the job done. Its pretty sweet, pretty smooth, and an all around pretty nice stout. Exceptionally unexceptional.

Dark brown beer with a medium foamy dark beige head. Nose of semi-sweet cocoa, mocha, and black bread. Flavor is rich with roasted grain, coffee, and dark chocolate finished with a smoky bitterness over a slightly sweet vanilla core. Slightly watery with perky carbonation, the body is a bit of a let down, but the flavor makes up for it. Decent.

Merci lavoine. En fiable, rsidu de brlure. Pas trs bon. En ft au Yard House de Boston.

Good dark head, strong oatmeal nose. Starts out with a sweet malty taste but gradually goes to a slightly hoppy finish. Very dark and chewy - a good oatmeal. $2.09 for a 12oz bottle from Julios Westborough, Ma.

Pours a dark brown. Heavy chocolate malts, a little smoky. Typical thin oatmeal stout. Okay beer.

Keg pour at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Aroma is chocolaty, roasted malts. Appearance is black pour, thin off-white head with nice lacing, no discernible sparkle. Taste is strong sweet roasted malts with some chocolate. Palate is surprisingly light bodied with slippery mouth feel and surprisingly lively carbonation. Overall, a good beer with a little light in the body and slightly overcarbonated.
