1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
The things I won’t taste to ensure a complete database or beer list! Iron City indeed; how do I flush the rust? Metallic, harsh, no appreciable aroma, no head, no lace, no good.
Bottle. Pours a sparkling light amber color with fizzy tan head. Aroma of grain and corn. Sweet flavor with minimal hop presence, mostly just sweet. Light bodied. Pretty much exactly what you would expect. ads135 (5213) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 13, 2018
Really weak, really bland lager. Kinda fun find considering its history, but not much to speak of as a drink. dawgdick (5) - - DEC 10, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2017 I had one of these in a Penguins bar in Cranberry, PA. Some head dent named “Troy” was yammering about how Gretzky was overrated and he kept guzzling Iron Cities. So I tried one and decided to get on the first plane with a free seat to get far away from this beer and this metro area forever. Turns out I ended up in Yellowknife and drank whale blubber smoothies and both were much better. Thanks, Troy! BlackBeerPG (981) - Darien, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2017
Taste: crisp, grain and malt, some hop character. Nose is mild, fermented cereal grains. Gold, clear, some foam head with delicate lace. Lite body. Old fashioned slightly water beer. ganache (6089) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 30, 2017
Bottle from Bierport, iirc. Nose too sweet, highly corny. Med-high graininess, strong fresh-cut grass, but really it’s all about the sweet corn. Pour clear dark golden but dull and a little dirty looking, head bright white but fizzes itself out utterly in under ten seconds. Taste quite sweet, right around the cloying mark, grassy with very low bitterness and stronger grain, very strong corn, and a pleasant floral character from the hops that would elevate the lesser base if everything weren’t so sweet and corn-cut. A touch of malt depth in the medium body helps with drinkability, but with the carbonation escaping so quickly, it’s closer to flat. Not an abomination by any means, but one of another hundred poorly-conceived traditional Pilsners from an area mistakenly known for good lagers. [2017.05.24: 1.2]

Had this beer for the first time in Pittsburgh last week. Bought it because I was told how awful it is. Well, it was quite refreshing. Not a super beer but better than I thought. The 24 ounce can at PNC was 9.50 . Will buy again. Not great but surprisingly good gripweed57 (2978) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - MAY 6, 2017
From old tasting notes. Pale yellow gold color. Creamy white head. Faint malt aroma. Light dry hop flavor upfront. Dry tart finish. Not great, but better than its reputation. BrewBoxer (2667) - New York, New York, USA - APR 21, 2017

Well.....I’ve had better. Nothing good about this beer. There are just too many other choices to consider this one. radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - NOV 28, 2016
Bottle into pils glass, because why not. Bubbly clear golden color with tad off-white head. Aroma notes of pale malt sweetness, crackery, faint straw, tad grass and even fainter fruity esters. Taste adds corn, metallic and light graininess. Light body, heavy carbonation, crisp, with clean finish. Aroma seems tad promising, pretty weak after that. Another boring pale lager down the hatch!
