COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Single-hop. Perhaps you’ve heard this term being thrown around lately, maybe wondering what exactly people are talking about. The idea is to create a beer with only one variety of hops so you can fully appreciate its flavors and complexities. We decided to make NELSON THE IMPALER using only the exceedingly rare and delicious Nelson Sauvin hops, grown exclusively in Nelson, New Zealand. Why? Because we can. Very light in color due to the use of almost exclusively Pilsner malt, intense grapefruit and hints of pineapple and mango make it surprisingly big on flavor with a refreshing, dry finish.
Notes: Single-hop Nelson pale. Tropical and grapefruit notes with light malt character

Strykzone (7305) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 23, 2017
Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Gobs of foam on the pour. The foam is white and falls slowly. Drinking this beer might take a while. A little white haze in the golden liquid. Aroma is light fruit, sugar, and yeast. It could pass for a saison. First sip is melons, lemon, and grass. Some zest bitterness. Pineapple and mango flavors are there but I keep coming back to melon zest.

hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 23, 2017
This was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured gold - orange with a huge white head that left big gobs of sticky lacing. Nose of lemon, floral and grassy hops with some fruit. Medium body. Flavor is big on citrus like grapefruit, some stone fruit like peaches, melon, and some pineapple. Finishes with a lot of fruit and some bitterness. Quite good for a single hop beer. Nelson is a great hop and this beer does it justice.

8/18/16. Bottle from Five Points. A forgettable pale ale. Orange pour under a small khaki head. Light citrus aroma, malts, both pale and caramel, follow. Light crackery pale malt flavor, a dose of caramel, mild citrus and a floral aspect. Meh.

Tall white head with excellent retention and a spotty lace. Pale blond color, clear. Mild nose of grains and old fruits. light bodied, prickly carbo, crisp. Light grainy malts, lil sour, old hops, light citrus and leaf. Dry finish, tame bite. Better than expected but not a regular for anybody’s lineup. 12oz bottle from statelineliquors.
