In case you’re one of the 3 people that haven’t figured it out yet, we at Iron Fist are fans of everything unfettered by and silly notions of "tradition". So our latest insurrection is a two-for. We brewed a huge Belgian style Trippel and hopped the (expletive deleted) out of it. Being the counterculturalists that we are, we decisively chose to use the finest imported European hops we could get our hands on rather than the ubiquitous West Coast style varieties. We even threw in some varieties so new they still have that new hop smell. A robust malt character helps balance this truly one-of-a-kind brew.
Brewed for KnB Wine Cellars 3rd Anniversary.

UXO (1896) - CANADA - JUN 25, 2015
Appearance: clear pale amber with three fingers of rocky light tan head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: floral/herbal, tropical fruit, Belgian yeast, caramel/toffee malt. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, strong bitter. (7/10) Palate: full and sticky body, moderate carbonation, emphatically boozy finish. (4/5) A beast that certainly does not believe in hiding its light under a bushel. Big and bombastic in every facet: big sweet, big bitter, big head, big caramel colour, big body, big booze. They call it a “Tripel/IPA”, and it certainly has aspects of both styles, but I don’t think you’d be far wrong thinking of it as a “triple IPA” in everything that really matters. (Hops and booze. What? Is there anything else?) Lacking in subtlety - but so am I, so I like this a whole bunch. Kinda reminds me of Arrogant Bastard, actually… (15/20)

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is yeast, grass, and hay. Medium mouth, boozy, yeast, earthy, honey, light bitterness, good.

Location: 750 ml bottle shared from State Line, 2/9/15

Aroma: Heavily Belgian nose, some spice, clove, banana, candied sugar, and some dark fruit
Appearance: A slightly cloudy orange pour with a small off-white head and some sticky lacing
Flavor: Tastes along the same lines, heavy spice, sweetness, finishes a little bitter and more spice
Palate: The body is fairly full, sticky mouthfeel, average-to-lively carbonation, and a long duration
Overall Impression: This one leans much closer to the Belgian yeast side than it does to the IPA. Heavy and sticky. If you promise in the label that you "hopped the (expletive deleted) out of it," I need more hops than this.

Tap at Brouwer’s - turbid orange - nose of juicy, citrusy american hops, place some tropical esters - low carbonation - sweet and intensely.tropical in flavor - noticeable alcohol, but fairly subdued for something so.strong - light phenolics late that play off the hops pretty well - good for something so.strong.

750 ml bottle split. Pours a cloudy orange color with a foamy head. Incredible sour citrus tangerine aroma that had me hooked right away. Grapefruit and citrus forward flavor with a nice belgian yeast background. Really nice balance of sour citrus and spices. What an amazing beer. Very well done. Loved it.

Rating #1082 - April 7, 2014 -Bottle from CBI - 12% Clear golden pour with a giant head with decent retention. Lots of grapefruity citrus aromas erupt out of this gorgeous brew.Taste is definitely full bodied, good yeast character, and just enough spice to be pleasant and refreshing. Generously hopped but not weightily bittered. Phenomenal.

I found this beer very quaffable. This triple IPA has a very nice golden amber coloring with a white head. The aroma is sweet, without being cloying, with a strong floral smell. The flavor is more on the malty side, and even though there is a high alcohol content, it is barely detectable. This beer finishes dry and leaves you wanting more.

On tap at space bar in falls church va it is a cloudy yellow orange color with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is a strong bitter grapefruit with a tart finish

On draft at Spacebar in Falls Church, VA. Pours a cloudy orange gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors ofbutterscotch and tropical fruits. Smooth, but somewhat boozy finish.

Holy booze and hops. Pours a dark orange and gold with a beige finger of head. The nose has alot of caramel and toffee with big hop and citrus notes as well as Belgian esters and citrusy zest notes. The middle has mild toffee, caramel and acidic hop notes throughout. The finish is boozy and has a lingering acidic hop note that clashes with the alcohol. Not incredibly well balanced and the hops far outweigh the malts. Nice spiced notes and yeasty esters work well.
