Black as tar with a generous coffee coloured head. Aromas of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, vanilla, leather and licorice dominate. It actually smells like it’s been aged in bourbon barrels too, with tannic oak notes and the bourbon sweetness. The taste has a lot of licorice, treacle, dark chocolate and leather. Only a bit of espresso. Charred meat in the finish. I still can’t shake the impression that this is barrel aged although I know it’s not. Full bodied and, as the label promises, velvety smooth with a little bit of prickly carbonation as well. Fantastic imperial stout, provided it isn’t consumed too cold. luttonm (6749) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 17, 2015
Draft at Uber, Seattle. Thick black-brown, dark brown head. Pretty, and a smooth sip. Roasty grain. Tasty, medium body as these big RIS go. Very solid and tasty. Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 11, 2015
Bottle at home. Black beer with a brown head. Coffee, chocolate, tar and licorice aroma. Coffee, vanilla, licorice, leather and smoked flavour.
A bit too much leatherflavour for me. wvhoran (477) - Tasmania, - JAN 10, 2015
Bottle at Lake Youl with JK, James, Poet. Looks black enough, with a thick and foamy light brown head. The aroma has chocolate, roasted malt. The body is nice and full with an oily texture. The flavour has roasted malt and cocoa bitterness. Without being one of the best, it’s good. AgentAle (1809) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 10, 2014
Aroma is rich sweet malts with hints of espresso and chocolate. A light bitterness comes through that is somewhat unpleasant. Taste is again fairly rich sweet malts with some caramel and espresso character. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Appearance is black with a medium brown head that retains well.

Pours a deep black with a very small tan head. Aroma of tobacco, nuts, roasted malt, caramel and light coffee notes. Flavor of tobacco, brown sugar, milk chocolate, nuts and toasted malt. Marduk (8394) - Reval, ESTONIA - DEC 2, 2014
750ml bottle (tasting @VastActive place, thanks). Pitch black color. Tiny size, brown head, stays. Sweet, roast, cocoa, licorice, plums in aroma. Massive roast, nutty taste. Nice bitterness. Alcohol is very well hidden. All flavors are mellow. Nice one! esp0r (2930) - NORWAY - NOV 29, 2014

Pours almost black with a creamy tanned head - which was a quite big surprise since daje had claimed that this was an IPA.... :-) Smells of dark malts, roast, coffee and spice tendensies. Following up with heavy sweetness, coffee and cocoa, dark dark fruits, elements of toast and soil. Ends with a medium bitter finish. A descent imperial stout for sure!
750ml bottle - thanks mjs, VastActiv and the rest of the Hel crowd!JHeath99 (1680) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - NOV 26, 2014
Sticky marmitey aroma. Very dark, small tight tan head. Taste full of rich roasts, but burnt and a bit ashy. Still malty though. Interesting wineyness in the finish. A bit harsh and aggressive, despite the obvious sweetness that ought to cover such things up.
Bottle shared. Pours an opaque black with a layer of toffee colored head. Aroma and taste are great, slightly dank, chocolates and coffee with roasted malts.
