On tap at West Chester location. Nice dark beer with thin mocha head. Roasted coffee flavors in the nose with a delicate floral hop. Creamy tasting beer with a nice, medium amount of roasted flavor to round it off. Minor toffee notes but flavor is a little weak. Slightly more carbonated than I would like. One of the best beers Iron Hill produces.

On tap at the Lancaster location. Poured a clear very dark brown with a thin khaki head. Smelled of cocoa, pit fruit, and coffee. The flavor was very doppelbock-esque. Lots of raisin, fig, and prune, with a touch of coffee. It felt dead and flimsy in my mouth. Just sitting there boring me to death. Thin bodied with a palate that doesnt lean toward sweet or bitter. There were no real flaws but nothing about it made me want to finish my glass and order another one either.

Pitch black color with a tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and toffee. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, caramel, and alcohol. Exceptional!

On tap at Pville for 08 Mug Club night. Pours a deeper brown with lots of amber highlights and a nice creamy tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, toffee, hazelnuts and cocoa. Flavor was a chocolate milkshake, cocoa, toffee, hazelnuts and caramel notes. Great B Porter!

Bottle DLD08 Murky brown beer with a small, creamy, off-white head. Malty aroma offers notes of sweet chocolate, caramel and coffee. Full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. Chocolate and caramel sweetness mocha too. Finishes mostly sweet and lightly bitter.

Iron Hills Baltic Porter is about as close to the Baltic as West Chester is...this a very light bodied version of their solid Pig Iron Porter. The flavor is like a dry Guinness that went flat. This sounds harsh, but it is not all that bad, just disappointing - I guess I have been suckered by the clever marketing and recent surge in Baltic Porters in the PA area.

750 ml bottle via trade with hopdog and shared with Bockyhorsey - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head that lasts. Very light lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, and light vanilla. Flavor is much of the same with a light bitterness. Medium body. Smooth palate. The beer losts its fizz toward the end, but was a very nice beer. Thanks Steve.

Cbkschubert was in my area and shared this bottle with me. Chocolate, caramel toffee aromas. Also had the aroma of brandy was suprised the alcohol content wasnt higher. Black body with tan head. Creamy chocolate and toffee flavored licorice. Left a sweet toffee aftertaste on palate. Thanks Craig.
