Draft at P-ville. Turbid brownish coppery colored with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma is hopcitric up front, with a pronounced hop and orangy aroma, plus some floral and spicy notes. The palate is medium, on the dry side, with a lot of orangy citrus flavors, hops, bready malt, and finishing floral and spicy notes. JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2007
Hazy golden-tan color. Aroma has some lightly toasted bread, yeast, a bit of citrus with a somewhat earthy farmhouse character. Flavor is quite doughy - bits of citrus and light fruit, lots of rustic/earthy grains. Pleasant and very drinkable. jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - JUN 23, 2007
On tap at the Blind Tiger. Cloudy brown/orange color with a medium sized off white head. Yeasty, fruity aroma with notes of caramel. Lightly sweet malty flavor, with some caramel, stone fruit and a grassy, mildly tart finish. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2007
Draught at North Wales. Cloudy warm golden-straw body with a velvety off-white head. Aroma of nutty malt, toasted banana, grapes, and bread crust. Flavor is drier than anticipated with a fruity apricot note, some caramelization, nice complex yeast characters, and light but distinct tartness. A marked step up from previous biere de gardes made by Iron Hill. I like this one quite a bit.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep orange beer that is very cloudy. Aroma is fresh and fruity. Cherry/berry and strawberry with a soft earthy component. Dusty and sweetly honeyish with light bready maltiness. Very spicy with loads of fruity esters. It’s okay, but it’s not great.

Tap at Blind Tiger - cloudy red/copper with a substantial head - light, lively aroma of wet grass, citrus rinds, some bready/yeasty qualities - crisp and refreshing, with the malt not too forward or sweet; it just makes some bread and biscuit character to get the palate working, ending with mild tartness and refreshing citrus fruitiness - a bit of earthy notes throughout - not spectacular, but a nice spring beer. Tap at Norht Wales, after the reccomendation from Whaleman. Pours a tremendousy cloudy dirty off brown, deep copper, (kinda like my old unpollished wort chiller color). Decent fluffy off white cobwebby head as well. Aroma is cookie-dough, yeasty, bready, lightly sweet , hints of caramel, and a bit musty. Good doughy full flavor, lightly sweet malts, toffee, hints of phenolics, and a light tart citrus character in the end which made it nice and refreshing. Nice Biere de Mars. hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 7, 2007
10oz glass on tap at the North Wales location. Poured a dark and muddy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of spices, bananas, caramel, citrus and yeast. Tastes of fruitiness, citrus, earthy, spices and toffee. I enjoyed this one! User37895 (3042) - - JUN 6, 2007
Poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a nice thin head, decent retention and lacing. The aroma was a bit earthy, caramel, and citrusey (oranges works moreso than lemony). Flavor followed suit, all of that with some tofee and light spice also mixed in there. Mouthfeel was dry, somewhat lightly acidic, moderate unfiltered body. A nice refreshing summer beer to enjoy. egajdzis (6692) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2007
Poured a murky orange brown color with a medium sized, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee malts, light spices, ash, floral hops, and light yeast as well. Taste of more spices, caramel malts, tart citrus fruits, orange peel, light butter, toasted dough, earthy yeast, and faint alcohol in the finish.
