4 oz draft pour at Iron Hill Newark as part of the 8 set sampler on 10/24/2014. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of roast and light chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, roast, dark fruit, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish. Probably my favorite of the set. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - AUG 25, 2014
20140825 tap at Newark. Big beer! This is cola brown with creamy but quick tan head. Aroma of baked beans, molasses, toffee, port. Not as toasty and roasty as an imperial, big still a strong presence. Unctuous and coating, but not thick. I could drink this beast by the pool, or with chili in the winter. Nicer than expected. On tap at Iron Hill Newark. Pours a deep opaque dark brown color with a two finger tan head that falls to a thin cap. Aroma is rich roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste is roasted malts with cocoa, acrid coffee and a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel has a medium body and smooth with light prickly carbonation.
