Media. Surprisingly low abv in a bourbon beer, but it did on fact taste like it. Predominantly bourbon flavored, but light in the mouth...a tad thin.not a fan. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2011
A deep dark brown porter with a thick brown head. In aroma, a pleasant subdued bourbon barrel, light coffee and fusel. In mouth, a smooth tobacco like chocolate, with wood extract, vanilla, some astringence, a tad harsh. On tap at Lancaster location, April 8th, 2011. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Hazy brown pour with light tan head and lace. Nice bourbon, oak, and vanilla dominate aroma. Vanilla cream, chocolate, roasted malt, with a malt bitter finish. Creamy smooth palate. Very nice beer.

20100104 Nitro tap at Newark location. I don’t recall the regular porter that well to realize the difference between the two, or what the barrel aging might have done to the beer beyond flavor/aroma, but this stuff is pretty thin and somewhat slick, my only knock on it, really, and the nitro doesn’t help. Otherwise, it’s a nice application of whiskey barrel with lots of vanilla to compliment the dark fruitiness of the malts. Very successful especially considering the low ABV. madmitch76 (25308) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2010
11th October 2008. GABF. Clear dark brown. Light palate and a light porter - the bourbon us well blended in to the flavour profile.
