Handbottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin biege head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of wood, lactic acid, and flowers. The flavor is sweet matly with notes of lactic acid and fruit. Thanks Storm for sharing. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2008
(Hand bottle 37,5 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Hazy golden with a rough white head. Spicy bourbon aroma with some fruitiness. Surprisingly light-bodied with sweetish fruit and bourbon accents and a distinct alcoholic finish. 201008 Grovlam (4252) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 20, 2008
Bottle. [Tasting @ Papsoe 20-10-2008] Average bubbly white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light cloudy yellow color. Aroma of sweet spicy bourbon, mild honey or mead like, fruit, yeast, wood alcohol. Full bodied with an average carbonation light dry thick texture. Moderated sweet flavor. Lingering spicy alcoholic finish. 3fourths (9350) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2008
Lightly hazed gold colored body. Hugely sharp bourbon-vanilla nose, really difficult to get past, but it’s actually quite nice... some honey sweetness and candy sugar buried beneath this hugely sweet vanilla-scented bourbon nose, but it doesn’t turn me away. Flavor is pasty and yeast heavy, some sharpness as well, alcohol easily noticed, and it has the distinct flavor of Irish whiskey, of all things... when warmer there’s more vanilla, candy sugar and true bourbon integrated with this Irish whiskey note... nice overall, warming. Growler, courtesy of Miver. Thanks so much for sharing this, Joe! Pours golden with a thin white leace. Nose is heavy bourbon, vanilla, caramel sweetness, and a bit of spicey yeast. Flavor is more vanilla, oak, a good amount of bourbon (which became more noticeable as it warmed).

Draft at Lancaster location, and growlered. Poured cloudy gold in color with a beige head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak and slightly fruity. Tastes of mostly vanilla, bourbon, spices, fruity, and a bit of alcohol warming. I’ve had this side by side with Axilla, and they were 100% different. Mine had a huge head, and was just a ton of bourbon; his was no head and a ton less boubon. The growler that I got seemed to be midpoint, but they have been pretty inconsistent. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - AUG 4, 2008
750mL bottle, courtesy of Miver. Thanks so much for sharing this, Joe! Pours a slightly hazy, golden color; thin white head with patchy lacing. Loads of intense bourbon, citrus, and charred oak; slightly rough along the edges, but very generous and toasty besides. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of toasty bourbon, warming alcohol, citrus, and toasty malts upfront; again, slightly rough along the perimeter; very warming; generous, but also comes in as slightly vegetal and stalky; overall: bourboned and rough. Lengthy finish: warming bourbon, light citrus, and lasting toastiness. Really wanted to like this more than I did. hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2008
On tap at the Phoenixville location. Poured a medum and cloudy golden color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of bourbon, fruity (apples skins), wood, and very light spices. Tastes of vanilla, wood, bourbon, fruity, and lighter spices. Light alcohol in the finish. egajdzis (6626) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 28, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2008 Poured a lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, citrus, coriander, yeast, bourbon, and some plastic. Taste of citrus, earthy yeast, some spices, vanilla, light bourbon, and a dry, alcohol finish. Various batches of this come off very different. Wow, what a nice beer this is. Pours ruddy dark strawish brown with fluffy off-white head. Nose is candi sugary malt, white pepper, heavy oaky bourbon, hops, fruit, some yeasty florals. Palate is very complex with a solid heft. Nice rock sigary maltt mathced with yeasty esters, some earthy notes, and a very assertive bourbon element that doesn’t overpower the beer, but rather accompanies it in a very bold way. This is an outstanding brew.
