On cask at the Iron Hill Wilmington location. Poured a black color with a chocolate colored head. Aroma was berries, chocolate and roast. the flavor followed but with the berries quite faint even at cask temperatures, as they really just highlighted the base beer’s licorice and chocolate firmness. Finishes with a pronounced and somewhat unexpected hop bitterness, but not as clean as you’d expect from a "lager." Body is medium, carbonation on cask was low, and the finish again wasn’t super clean. A neat brew. GMCC2181 (1617) - Newark, Delaware, USA - AUG 7, 2011
Cask at Iron Hill Wilmington. Poured into a pint glass, nice dark color with a cascading head. Decent aroma of some chocolate and some smoke. Taste is a light roasted malts, light smoke, chocolate, light fruit flavor from the blueberry. Medium body, smooth on cask. Overall a nice lager on cask that was very sessionable.
