From the tap poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Hoppy malty flavor with a quick finish.

Tap, Lancaster location, backlog. Pours a clear copper body with a small off-white head that faded fairly quickly. The nose is really big on the caraway and and the rye malt with some light caramel and toasted malt notes. The flavor is a little heavy on the caraway, but I must admit it is like drinking a glass of rye bread. I like the prominent rye spiciness that outshines the caramel malt. Medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation, lingering spicy finish. Not bad, a bit heavy with the spicing, but I guess that’s what they were shooting for. I could just do with a bit less caraway.

On tap at lancaster. Transparent orange-amber, thin bubbled white head gone quick with little lace. Nose of bubblegum, watery earth and caramel. Flavor is grainy, light celery, honey, and a thin, dry, paper-like bitterness. Pumpernickel emerges with warmth and lingers through the finish. Growler following a sample and Mug Club serving 12-Mar-2010. This is the roggenbier aged with caraway seeds. Pours very turbid and very ruddy Carolina mud color with 2-finger clingy off-white head. Looks a bit like a smacked ass, but has that look where you now it is going to be complex and very good. The nose is great...complex bready malt, caraway seed, spicy, some fruit, hops, and a bit of what I call a "barleywine aroma". The flavor is like rye bread with caraway seeds thrown in a blender wth some pumpernickel. Solid hefty palate heft, very bready and malty, with backup hops, some sweetness, and a crisp finish. The caraway works very well here, and this one is very complex. Another one I growlered, and am very glad to have 5 pints of left tomorrow prior to the midnight God of War 3 release for PS3.. Tap at Lancaster Iron Hill. Poured hazy amber in color with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of rye malts, caramel, and bread. Tastes of some cereal, rye bread, light citrus hops. On Tap at IH Lancaster. Light rye and citrus aroma. Golden body with a thin head. Flavor has much more rye then others I’ve tried and is well balanced with citrus and spices. Light citrus finish with a bitter aftertaste
