25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with a tan haze. Nose is raisin, oak, fig and toffee; slightly musty. Medium body with sharp and foamy carb. Taste is fig, brown sugar, raisin and clove with hints of dark berries. Finishes with bitter spices. Surprisingly smooth but too bubbly. My first appearance as a Top Rater of Abt/Quads. Clear brown body with a thin white head.
Sweet malt aroma.
The flavor is sweet but there’s not much else going on here.
Needs complexity. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - NOV 27, 2010
750 ml bottle courtesy of my friend J that he purchased at the Lancaster, PA location. Pours a muddy brown with a reddish tint and a thin-moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Very pleasant aroma of prunes, raisins, molasses, brown sugar, mild spice and some alcohol vapors. The flavor is similar to the aroma and equally enjoyable. Medium-full bodied. Nice! Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Poured a clear ruddy brown color with an off white head. Molasses and toffee dominated the nose, but there was also a whiff of clove. Cloyingly sweet and a bit sticky with a splash of alcohol. I tasted toffee, date, molasses and hay. So so. Beerdedone (3446) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2007
Bottle sampled at state line. Pours a dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel malts, chocolate, fruit, and a hint of brown sugar. Flavor of caramel, molassas, dark fruit, and some smoke. Thanks robert

750 mL bottle. Said to be brewed at Willmington location? Anyway, pours to a rusty brown body with a foamy dark tan head. The aroma is dry cinnamon sticks, chocolate powder, mace. The flavor is chocolate, tart fruit, spices like cinnamon and mace. The palate is spicy and medium bodied. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 28, 2008
Courtesy kramer. The pour yields a dark and hazy caramel brown body with ruby red highlights. A quick, foamy, tan colored head leaves minimal, spotty lacing behind. The aroma shows caramelized sugar, nougat, spiced figs, and hints of orange peel. Organic, earthy notes do well to cut the sweetness of the candy sugar. Likewise, flavors are well balanced between sweet, earthy, and fruity. Brown sugar and nougat again show strong, with hints of chocolate and various dark, caramelized fruits. Smooth and creamy, almost velvety on the palate. The alcohol is very well hidden, making this huge brew dangerously drinkable. Overall, I really enjoyed this one. I’d bet that this bottle was the beneficiary of some careful aging. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JAN 14, 2007
Tap, Iron Hill Wilmington. Dark, cola-brown appearance with a slight reddish tint; off-white head with excellent retention. Cola and candy sugar aroma, with dried fruits. Full, chewy mouthfeel: good levels of carbonation, maple syrup and dried fruits, some belgian spice and yeast, floral hoppiness; complex, layered palette. Slightly dry, cola and candy sugar finish. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - JAN 24, 2007
Growler provided by kmweaver. Clear, dark amber with small off-white head. The aroma is cherry, vinous, candi sugar, banana and clove. The flavor is very sweet, lots of fruit, apple, pear, banana and some clove, slightly medicinal. Medium/full body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation, slightly astringent finish.
