Pours dark brown with lacy head. Smell was strong of vanilla and alcohol. Found the alcohol taste to be a bit overwhelming but calmed down after first taste, that is probably the dangerous part sine this beer is 10%abv. hopscotch (11046) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 14, 2007
Growler... Dark, mostly clear burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma provides notes of chocolate, banana and dark fruits. Sweet, chocolaty flavor. Not too boozy. Banana esters. Light smoke and spice phenols. A whisper of mint. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, chocolaty and fruity. Kudos to kmweaver for picking up the growler! UPDATED: NOV 7, 2007 Not so good. This beer has an aroma of Chinese takeout. It is brown in color, lots of malt in the flavor, but an off flavor of vegetables. faroeviking (10836) - FAROE ISLANDS - NOV 6, 2007

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and quite spicy. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices and vegetables, leading to a dry spicy finish. Thanks to Papsoe for sharing. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - SEP 25, 2008
Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Poured a clear ruddy brown color with an off white head. Molasses and toffee dominated the nose, but there was also a whiff of clove. Cloyingly sweet and a bit sticky with a splash of alcohol. I tasted toffee, date, molasses and hay. So so. douglas88 (9049) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 27, 2010
750 ml bottle thanks to Eric. A issue with the cork, and sadly this beer has lots some of its glory. Pours a copper color with almost no head. The aroma is sweet bananas, spices and fruit. The flavor is like a metal banana covered with caramel. Oxidation. Sweet dark fruits. Warm. I’ll re-rate this someday. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - JAN 31, 2013
At the Iron Hill Belgium Comes to West Chester event. Quite sweet with a bit of fruit in the background. Didn’t really get any Belgian character out of this. Skyview (5920) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 9, 2007
Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting room. Pours a hazy orange-ish brown brew with a fizzy light tan head that quickly disappears. Aroma is funky with green vegetable scents, some black pepper, soy sauce and a touch of dried, dark pitted fruit. Taste is a little off, very sweet, medium bodied with a metalic aftertaste. Finish is sweet with some high alcohol warmth in the aftertaste. More of an experimental brew than a Begian Quadrupel. Hoping this may have been in an infected packaging, try again?
