750 ml bottle shared by toncatcher. Dark fruit and caramel off this brown pour with a decent head. Flavors were similar with sweet molasses and more dark fruits. Pretty good stuff. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 15, 2009
750 ml bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with woody amber highlights and a nice foamy head. Aroma is apple brandy, and ltos of dried fruits, estery- good full dark malts, caramel, toffeel, molasses, slight smoked rauchmalt, and earthy leather hint. A bit too sweet- almsot turns to a slight soy oxidaiton, brooan malts, dark crystal spec b fruitiness, raisin and toffee, maple sugar, brown sugar and apple cider as it warms. Big and full body an mouthfeel and a nice long finish. Pretty good. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAY 30, 2009
750, corked and baled. Pours hazy dark brown. Medium-light body and carbonation. Sweet toffee-nut-chocolate aroma and taste. SuzyGreenberg (1603) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Corked 750 ml bottle; thanks Bob!! Dark brown with fizzy off-white head; killer nose of spicy yeast, brown sugar and dank fruits; first sip is kind of harsh with a big spicy kick; sweet sugars and fruit with bone dry finish; interesting and lovely nose, just not that smooth overall Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - AUG 26, 2010
Courtesy of Pailhead. Mahogany, red edges held to light. Highly carbonated. Dark fruits up front, faint yeasty character and alcohol through the back end. Flavor much the same. Fig/prune a little stronger, chewy/yeasty through the middle. Slight alcohol warming in the finish.

Poured a deep brown color with a very nice fluffy white to slight off-white head. Lacing was less than expected given the head. The aroma was caramel and some spices, fruity, somewhat like a Christmas-time Belgian Ale. The flavor followed suit, some brown sugar, caramel, cinnamon, other spices, some light roast (v. faint touch of peat). Mouthfeel was smooth, finished with a touch of bitterness (hops or spices?), maybe a touch acidic. Not bad, not excellent, decent. badgerben (5254) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUN 25, 2007
RBSG 2007. Murky brown color with no head. A little coriander in the aroma with black pepper. Celery, coriander and yeast dominate the malty body. Nice. mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - JUN 25, 2007
Pours a hazy maroon, brown with a big fluffy off tan head. Smells of some dark malts and fruits. A little smoke in there too I picked up. Interesting. Taste is very sweet, almost a little tart. Just a touch of some smoky maltiness. Nice dark fruits, alost funked out fruits. Really syrupy, but fairly easy drinking. Definitely get some alcohol in the taste, especially in the finish. Get a little heat there. Good brew. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 28, 2007
RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Cloudy brown body with a frothy light brown head. Sweet spiced aroma. Sweet molassas and caramel flavor with some spice in the background. sloth (2923) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - SEP 15, 2007
Medium sized beige head, decent retention and lace. Hazy brown, ruby hued color. Nose is spicey at first leading to some caramelly, chocolatey, fruity aromas as well as some berry notes. Med/full body, palate coating with a soft carbonation. Medium sweet malts up front, chocolate, caramel, some brown sugar notes with a hint of plums and raisins, sorta grainy as well. Finish is lightly sweet malty and spicey, some licorice notes as well. Bottle supplied by Robert @statelineliquors Thanks dude!!
