Bottle... RBWG 2013This beer rocks!… Milky, pink pour with a minuscule, short-lived, off-white head. The aroma is fantastically fruity, like cherry Smarties; wonderfully acidic, like lemon pulp; and fantastically acetic, like a tiny splash of red wine vinegar. Medium to full-bodied with only a trace of carbonation. The flavor is an excellent marriage of red wine vinegar and acutely sour, fruity, woody acidity. Tart, semi-dry finish. This is more a Flanders red/Flemish brown than an actual kriek lambic. Fortunately, I love Flanders reds. This world class beer was generously shared with me by Maltzilla!

Sample at a bottle share, post Jackie-O’s 9th Anniversary. Hazy dark red orange color, with minimal head. Raspberry aroma in the nose, kind of mild, but in the flavor... Wow, big sour tannic taste, definite cream aroma, and raspberry. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mild vinegar aspect to it. Really tasty, enjoyable, sour raspberry stuff, despite being on the verge of too far on the vinegar side. Fun stuff to try.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Hazy amber pour with white head. Aroma is super harsh, very gastric, almost chlorine like, nostril burning. Taste of tongue annihilating gastric acid, vomit, very low fruitiness, just basically like drinking vomit. Bad stuff.

Bottle (750 ml). Thanks to Mark for this one! Hazy orange/amber with a small off-white and little to no lacing. Aroma is of paint thinner, berries, vinegar and wood... pretty bad. Taste is a little better, but still pretty bad, paint thinner, vinegar, berries and wood. Medium body. Small carbonation. Puckering finish. Really bad.

Split a few ways with Tommy and Julien @ pretty much cellar temp in a tiny motel room in vermont with some hill stemware.

A - Very nice reddish pink hue. no head.

S - Nose smells like a balsamic vinegar with cherry pie. Slightly nutty. smells so sour.

T - taste is pretty rough. like a very intense candy. there’s cherry for sure but like hard candy I get instant heartburn from this one.

M - thin, oily, sweet

O - This is intense! wow I’m not a fan of it but it was interesting to try.

Bottle. Pours a slightly pink tinged amber body, completely clear, under a minimal fizzy off-white head that ran to a thin ring very quickly. The nose is sharply acetic with some slight paint thinner notes and a little bit of sour cherry. The flavor is rather sharp and acetic as well, the kinda beer that I know is going to lead to some heartburn later. Some nice oak and sour cherry notes as well. Some nice qualities, but there’s not much complexity or funkiness to this, it’s all acidity. Light bodied and bone dry with sharp fizzy carbonation and a lingering sour cherry finish. I think this actually got better than when it was originally released.

12/22/2010: Iron Hill Kreik De Hill... Aroma: Oozing with vinegar that almost burns the nostrils; hint of "Sugary Daddy" caramel. Appearance: Muddy burnt orange color. Flavor: Very tart and sour with cherry and sugary caramel; sour finish tinged with vinegar; puckering, although the cherry does come through. Palate: Medium-full body; thick. Overall: Quite excellent.

750 mL bottle shared by alexsdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #116 for this beer.

Bottle. Clear light amber pour with no real head. Caramel mixed with wicked acidity. Strange and muddled with vinegar notes.

Bottle at a ChrisO Tasting, London - thanks to Bill. Pours cloudy, grapefruit-red with a light, wispy cream head. Bracing tart cherry nose, light sweat. Big, fresh tart flavor, light to medium sweet, good vinegar and acetic fruits. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Crisp, biting sour finish, acetic, vinegary a bit, good fruits, sweat. Nice.

Bottle @ Christers. Pours orange with a small white head. Aroma is sour - WOW- with brett, berries, sourness, acetone, oak. Flavor is very sour and strongly acidic with brett, acetone, some sweet malt, sour fruit, cherries, wood or oak notes. Medium body, lively carbonation, very sour and puckering mouthdrying finish. Hmm did i say SOUR.. Great refreshing brew. 041212
