Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a cap of a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Sly lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts, light caramel/toffee malt base, some dried leaves and a light earthy hoppiness.
The flavor blended all of the previously mentioned aromas together adequately. Leaned sweet with some bitterness trying to influence the overall taste. Aftertaste was nutty sweet smooth with a quick malty finish.
The palate was just a touch under medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, nice brown ale by Iron Hill, I’d have again. cheap (5854) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Smells like an attractive porter, roasty and all. Look is darker brown. On the tongue it has a goodly amoint of bitterness, yet stays well balanced. Some roastiness in the flavor which matches the smell. Overall, not bad.
