[At GABF 2004] A light amber beer with a fine beige head. The aroma is sweet nutty combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is dry and roasted with notes of caramel and a hoppy bitter finish. I like the hoppyness compared to German Dunkles. anders37 (26625) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 14, 2011

On tap at the Iron Hill in North Wales, PA. Poured a medium mahogany color with a small off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee and light chocolates. Malty tasting, caramel, some chocolates and a little bready. Overall, not a bad beer. DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2004
Draft at North Wales. Another winner from my 2nd best sampler ever (2nd only to Victory’s massive 16 six-ouncers that I had over the summer.....which incidentally Victory gave me a hard time about ordering the next time I tried to order it...bastards.) At any rate, this one pours deep brown with ruby edges. Great aroma of malt, cabernet, nuts, and chocoff. Tastes bold, firm, with chocoff, some nuts, toffee, and corn flakes at the finish. This beer kicks ass and takes names. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 28, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2009 On tap @ Wilmington location. Pours a clear light brown body with a small wispy off-white head. Nutty and toasty malt nose with just a touch of huskiness, but the huskiness kinda works in this one. A little bit of light-roast coffee. Fairly clean flavor, light coffee, some dry nutty malt, a little caramel, finishes with some light bitterness to keep it from being too sweet. Light to medium bodied, moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall pretty decent, something I could have a few of. egajdzis (6580) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 30, 2006
Poured an amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, caramel, nuts, and floral hops. Taste of more nuts and roast, some doughy nougat, chocolate, citrus hops, and a medium bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel, very nice dunkel. ganache (5898) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Tap at the Maple Shade location, mine coming in at 4.5%. Deep mahogany with honey-amber highlights and a clingy tan head. Gently sweet flavor, slippery with a hint of fruit sticking out of the smooth medium body. Faint bitterness, no nuts or more advanced melanoidins/Maillard products here. Clean but a little lightweight.
