From bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 13. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Astringent hoppy citric/herbal aroma. Dry. Flavour has a slight woody note to a medium dry malty aroma. Somewhat herbal. Finish holds a slight liqourice note to a rather dry finish without getting too bitter. Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with a light touch of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish where the fruity note carries thru. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. joergen (27984) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2007

Beautiful cloudy amber color; thick head. Aroma of milk chocolate, malt, hops, light sweet wood. Smooth mouthfeel, good malt and caramel flavor, with a touch of vanilla and a good hopping, both in strength and quality. Very good.
Bottle. Pours dark brown. Tan head. Nose/taste of stone fruit, dark fruit, malt, nuts, caramel and dried nectarine. Medium body. brokensail (16440) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 28, 2011
A: This beer pours amber, maybe copper, in color with a surprisingly large khaki colored head.
S: Toffee, molasses, and brown sugar on the nose, making up most of the bouquet. A pretty decent dark fruit character, with raisins and plums, and definitely a strong alcohol aroma. A bit of toasted bread is there as well. Not bad, but the aromas are all kind of "flat" and boring.
T: Sweet is mostly how the beer tastes. There is not a big emphasis on the heavy caramel flavors that I expect from an old ale. Some decent bread and brown sugar flavor, maybe some minimal fruit notes.
M: The body is medium with a medium carbonation.
D: This was a decent enough of beer, but sort of boring and one note. Not the rich and deep flavors I associate with an old ale. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 25, 2007
