This is a filtered American wheat beer, with a touch of natural raspberry flavor and aroma. Before you pass this one over because its a fruit beer, try it on a hot summer afternoon. Our brewers even admit its their beer of choice during those hot summer beer festivals.

On tap at Lancaster. Transparent gold, fizzy white head. Nose is standard syrupy-fruit sweetness + wheat, astringent grain clashing with sugar. Flavor is worse, lightly balanced sweetness but heavily synthetic, bit corny through the finish, lasting wheat and washed out bitterness. Really dislike beers that taste like fruit syrup has been added.

20110410 tap at Newark. Much jammy raspberry in aroma. Medium yellow with small, quick, white head. Thin bodied, a touch metallic, no bitterness. Lingering sweet, kind of candyish berry. Okay for a fruit wheat, but neither American wheat nor raspberry pale ales are particularly interesting to begin with.

It started so promising but then slipped straight to Hecuba in a hand basket. Lovely raspberry aroma without being cloying. Pours straw colored with little head and some lacing. The taste is limp. Not much wheat or raspberry action and the finish is astringent. Way too dry.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear pinkish golden color with a large creamy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Faint berry aroma. The taste is tart berry notes, faint bready notes. Tart turns to sweet and back to tart. Thin bodied. Meh.

Pours dark golden in color with a small just-off-white head. Aroma is of artificial raspberry syrup and sugar. Flavor is much of the same, very carbonated and syrupy. Tad of wheat but mostly just sweetness.

12 oz draft served in a clear pint glass. Pour was a light straw with one finger of white head. Nose was raspberries and carbonation. Taste was like a raspberry spritzer with a light lager finish. Not a bad brew, and could be good on a hot sweaty day, but I am not a big fan of this one.

Yellow gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Very raspberry aroma. Raspberries and what, with a cloying sweetness and earthy hops. Thin and watery.

on draft at the brewpub, pours deep gold with a thin white head. Aroma is berry and grains. Flavor is cereal, some wheat notes and artificial raspberry.

Draft at Iron Hill Maple Shade. Light, smooth and fruity. Goes down easy on a hot summers day. No medicinal or artificial flavors. Raspberry is pretty subdued. Not a great beer, but not terrible.
