This was on tap at the brewpub.
This was poured into a pint glass (yeah, I know not a tulip...) but here’s what I was able to observe with this beer.
The appearance was basically a fairly hazy golden yellow color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that faded as soon as I took my first sip.
The smell was an earthy fruity bready content. Light spice followed.
The taste was pretty doughy with the spice to come back to complement. Earthy fruits make a slim appearance in the taste.
On the palate, there’s a spicy bready texture running in and out over my tongue. I say this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it.
Overall, I liked this beer as it’s good for the style and for me. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 26, 2010
In short: A doughy saison blending a strong wild yeast character with rye and flowery hops.goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 27, 2010
How: Handbottle from my buddy dickinsonbeer. Thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Slightly cloudy blonde body topped by a nice medium size creamy white head
In long: Nose is exactly what I was hoping with a name like that. Strong wild yeast presence and lots of rye. These two elements really blend well. Taste is mostly about the yeast, very strong wild character here. Crisp cereals with a touch of honey, flowery floral hops, some lactic notes, lots of spicy rye. Doughy texture with a lively carbonation. Something perfumy about the rye and flowery hops make for a little soapy touch. It looses because of the little soapy touch but overall I thought this was an above average Saison and the use of rye gives it a little something different. Feels very authentic. If you like doughy Saisons with a focus on the strong wild yeast character (i.e.:Dupont Forest) then you will like this beer. Another well put together beer by Iron Hill. This brewer knows what he’s doing. Good for him because skills is what you need when the boss has no daughter.
Poured a slightly hazy light gold color. with an almost white head. Spicy rye aroma with some floral hop notes. The malt base smelled a little worty. The flavor was malty with more spicy rye and a floral finish. Touch of yeastiness in the middle. Miver (615) - Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2009
draft several times at Lancaster Iron Hill. Poured cloudy dark golden in color with an offwhite medium sized head. Aroma of rye and lighty bready. Tastes of rye, light citrus, spices, grass, and fairly earthy. A pretty nice selection. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - AUG 31, 2009
Aroma of some spice and rye with a good amount of malts. Flavor is spicy and some mellow fruit and grain with a nice clean dry finish. Pretty good.

[2392-20090801] Tap. Mildl nothing aroma has a bit of yeasty saison as it warms. Hazy, light yellow orange body with a quick foamy white head. Fair saison yeast flavour. Light-medium body. Average.

Hazy golden pour with a rocky head. Peppery aroma with some fruit. Dry and bitter at the beginning followed by some fruit and then dry again. Nice little beer. Touch of sour. jercraigs (11071) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2009
2009-08-01. Golden yellow body with a mild aroma, a light spice with a touch of grainy character. Flavour is similar with light spice, touch of rye and pale grainy malt. Average plate. Okay. Bit simple? Growler at BCTC 2009 User37895 (3085) - - AUG 3, 2009
On draft at the Lancaster location. Light golden color, decent initial had that had weak retention for the style. Good lacing somehow. But all amazing from there on. Aroma featured some sweeter candy apple and light fruit malts, a firm black pepper presence and some off straw notes too? Flavor wakes ya the heck up with firm in your face pepper and hops and presumably the spicy rye bitter twangy malts. Something from that spice rack too herbs and spices blend. Phenolic character is firm. Light fruits are present, light bananas at wamer temperatures. Mouthfeel was light and full at the same time. Refreshing heck of a beer. Dang good. Fantastic, in my IH top five. Good and lively carbonation. egajdzis (6830) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 2, 2009
Poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of rye malts, citrus fruits, coriander, lemongrass, toast, and honey. Taste of lots of chewy rye, citrus fruits, vanilla, honey, tart wheat, grass, and a dry finish.
