3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Bright and light-bodied.
Light golden color with a light head.Earthy, fruity and spicy with a refreshing finish. A touch of citrus in the flavor. Alc by Vol: 5.5%
A very interesting offering.
I thought that this was easily the best pour of Iron Hills May seasonal sampler.
I knew I had another Iron Hill beer.
Here’s my notes:
At the brewpub, this was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance had a golden yellow color with a bar pour’s thin foamy white head.
The smell had some lemon, grass, herbal and florally sweet, at the end a nice light spice came in (Sorachi Hops?, maybe).
The taste was sweet, fresh with a crisp spice overflowing right on out gracefully over top of my taste buds. There was a sweet sticky and peppery aftertaste that lead to a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it.
Overall, really nice saison by Iron Hill. If I lived in the Lancaster area, this would probably be my go to beer by them. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - JUN 4, 2011
Floral nose with a bit of cookie dough and crackery malt. The taste is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with fresh citrus hops, sugary malts and honey, light hay. Very nice. alobar (3800) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 18, 2011

In short: A refreshing floral belgian blonde ale.malrubius (2902) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - OCT 8, 2010
How: Fresh hand-bottle from Dickinsonbeer. Pre-BCTC 2010 warm-up tasting.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose has a lot of flowers. Taste is a bit fruity (pineapples mainly with citrus notes), lemongrass, dandelions, Social Tea™ cookies, lemon skin. A bit tart. The hopping has a lemony and citrusy signature. Could have used more attenuation. There are some light rustic notes here and there but overall this is far from a barnyard Saison. Enjoyable. That was second beer of a very long day of heavy drinking. The type drinking that health-conscious people avoid. But not me. I don’t care. Only the good die young. I’m safe.
BCTC. Thanks to whoever brought this. Golden straw with head. Lemon pastry floral hop aroma. Apricot lemony grassy with dry clean finish. Soft palate. Warm. I thought this was excellent.

Pale golden pour. The nose is quite light and pilsnerish with a distincly spicy yeastiness. Brightly lemony with a sort of fruity hoppiness behind that. Quite lean and spicy with a distinctly flinty bitterness. Pretty nice stuff. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - AUG 3, 2010
