750 ml bottle from eaglefan538. Pour is ruby orange brown with a one inch off white head. Aroma of caramelly sweet malt, toasty, and some citrus hoppiness behind that. Nice, full nose. Really nice balance and melding of the hops and malts. Taste is caramelly, brown sugar, and the citrus. Some grainy mineral bright fruit sweetness behind that. Taste is nice, but not as full as the nose would suggest. Palate is medium full, mouth coating. Nice one, thanks for this one Brian. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Bottle from the Otown throwdown. Miketd brought this rare bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a small head. Aroma full of toffee, caramel, yeast, vanilla, and oak. Flavor is sweet, caramel, vanilla and balanced by some nice hops on the finish. Great beer. Loved it. mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Courtesy mketd. Pours a dark brown, with red hues and small off tan head. Smells of big bold dark caramel malts, bready yeast, and some sweter fruits and vanilla. The flavor was of typical barley wine style. Mild alcohol burn ,wit htraces of sweet fruits, vanilla oak, and dark malts all together. this was very solid, but seemed sort of standard to me. No real big flaws, just nothing to set itself apart in my book. Still very good and drinkable. gunhaver (1030) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2009

Another big IH 750ml bottle courtesy of Swolf3. Poured dark brown, with a tan head. Dry aroma, dried fruit as well. Very luxurious flavor, just permeates the tastebuds. Very enjoyable. puzzl (3264) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2008
Bottle shared by that Beer Drinker of the Year 2001 guy. He’s the man. Acrid, strong, alcohol filled aroma, loaded with bitter hops and gasoline. Kind of old flavor, oxidized already though new, but still rather light and mellow. The polar opposite of the aroma. Soupy and heavy, though soft on the tongue. Pretty nice, if you can get past the smell. adrian910ss (2604) - Doylestown, PA, USA - JUN 23, 2008
750 ml bottle. Pours a muddy brown caramel with a thick beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, tangy citrus and grassy hops. Taste of tangy citrus with a strong caramel malty presence. hellbilly (3306) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - APR 19, 2008
bottle from 2005 brought to the tasting by sparky27... the color is like a caramel right before the cream is added with a huge tan head that eventually fades to a ring. the perfumey aroma is sweet with grains and caramel oakiness followed by raisins, pine, grass and some citrus hops. palate is sweet but not sticky or cloying. this is surprisingly still quite hoppy.... flavor is similar to the aroma... raisins and a distinct dry woodiness precede a slight bite on the finish. medium body is soft from the carbonation and creamy without being sticky. i bet this is bitchin’ when it’s fresh... Sampled at the Hellbilly tasting. Thank you Sparky27! Dark red-brown pour and foamy tan head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Fruity caramel flavor with some hoopy bitterness on the finish. Interesting!
