750mL shared by theisti. Pour is dark, hazy, reddish copper, cannot see through it. It has a small bit strong head, lightly sticky. Aroma is super strong, syrupy, alcoholic malts with a bit of an stringent hoppiness. Taste follows suit with a bit less of the astringency. There is the alcohol but it evaporates without leaving an alcoholic aftertaste. Its a strong barleywine like the other many strong barleywine, I don;t know what better way to describe it, this style of BW was once super cool and interesting but has become boring (I can get many similar for a much better price). Has a very thick and syrupy mouthfeel. alobar (3778) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Cloudy copper color with aroma of fruit, caramel, and hops. Citrus sweetness along with some caramel. Quick hop bite at the back end with some alcohol. Nice beer! reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 15, 2014
pours an amber/ruby color with a huge tan head. aroma has lots of candied fruit, malty sweetness, and tea. flavor follows suit...candied fruits, toffee, tea, earthy bitterness and booziness. mouthfeel is medium and the finish is fruity/earthy and dry...warming. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - JAN 14, 2011
750 ml bottle thanks to my friend J. Pours a slightly hazed reddish amber with a moderate-large off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of caramel and sweet malt with some pine notes present as well. The flavor is caramel and sweet malt up front followed by a solid dose of piney hops. Moderate bitterness at the finish caps off this barley wine nicely. Medium-full bodied. Good stuff!

750ml via trade i think gmc sent this, thanks to whomever. Pours rich copper with a 2 finger copper head. Nose is quite sweet and hoppy and interesting. Taste is sweet, some what hoppy and all in all a pretty tasty barleywine. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2008
Bottle shared by that Beer Drinker of the Year 2001 guy. He’s the man. Acrid, strong, alcohol filled aroma, loaded with bitter hops and gasoline. Kind of old flavor, oxidized already though new, but still rather light and mellow. The polar opposite of the aroma. Soupy and heavy, though soft on the tongue. Pretty nice, if you can get past the smell. hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - APR 19, 2008
bottle from 2005 brought to the tasting by sparky27... the color is like a caramel right before the cream is added with a huge tan head that eventually fades to a ring. the perfumey aroma is sweet with grains and caramel oakiness followed by raisins, pine, grass and some citrus hops. palate is sweet but not sticky or cloying. this is surprisingly still quite hoppy.... flavor is similar to the aroma... raisins and a distinct dry woodiness precede a slight bite on the finish. medium body is soft from the carbonation and creamy without being sticky. i bet this is bitchin’ when it’s fresh... tgncc (3132) - Bellmore, New York, USA - JAN 15, 2014
Fruit, candi sugar, citrus on the nose. The appearance is dark amber, off white head. The flavor is fruit, candi sugar, citrus. The finish is citrus, pine. Medium in body, slightly thick. Nice. User37895 (3042) - - MAR 21, 2008
Closing out the opening day of March Madness with a 750 from the Wilmington location. Poured an orangey brown color, slight murkiness to it, but nothing extreme, tons of carbonation in the pour and a head that was strongly retained during consumptions, steady flow of replentishing bubbles. The aroma was piney resinous, caramel, raisins. The flavor was strong caramel, dry dark fruits (raisins for sure), strawberries (surprised to see that exact descriptor below in a review), vanilla, and very strong pine-resinous and spicey hops. Mouthfeel was only moderate for the style, far from sticky, highly carbonated (I’d venture to even say too highly carbonated, which probably led to a more light-moderate impression than moderate-heavy). Outside of the body, this thing did indeed resemble SN Bigfoot, imo (also noted below by another reviewer).
