Shenandoah Throwdown, 750ml bottle, thanks Dickinsonbeer. Small off-white head atop cloudy straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some spicy, light smoke. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some orange, light smoke. Soft light-medium body, light creaminess. hopdog (12369) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 9, 2012
On tap at the North Wales location. Poured a deeper yellow, almost gold color with a smaller sized head. Nice smokey aromas that came out as it warmed up with some bready/biscuit. Tastes of the same with a slightly sweet finish. Some fruitiness lurking in the background. I liked the smoke characteristics.j12601 (10999) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2010

750ml, corked and caged bottle, shared courtesy of Tom. Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Hazy. Aromas of smoke, yeasty, and bready. Tastes smoke, caramel, and some lighter fruitiness.
Bottle at the Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a hazy golden apricot color. Light smoke (and I do mean very light, knowing there was some smoke probably was the only reason I noticed it), some soft wheat notes. Smooth, cracker and sweetness. Light bitter finish. The newest 750 cc from Iron Hill, this one pours deep gold with a lot of carbonation streams and 2 finger white head. Nose is pale malt, hopcitrus, mild rauch and fruit. Tastes rich, spicy, with pale malt, hopcitrus, apricotty fruit, on the sweet side late, with light rauch. They advertise this as smoked gold ale, but I found the rauchy component to be pretty much non-existent. Still, a unique and quaffable beer on a 90 degree day, although I must admit to getting tired of all the puns on blonde women. This one even features a Barbie doll on the label. Let’s get more original, guys. BVery (10327) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Tap at Iron Hill North Wales. Clear rich gold pour with a minimal head. Nose is biscuit and slight smoke. Moderate palate. Taste is syrupy, slight smoke, and slight yeast. A bit of a dry finish.

750mL sampled at Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a nice cloudy blonde with a creamy, relatively thick, bright white head that has good retention and lace. Not much smoke going on here for me- maybe a touch in the nose but that’s because I was looking for it. Taste is pretty generic Belgian blonde: yeasty, candi sugar, touch of grassy hops. Moderately creamy body. No real flaws but not what I would consider a smoked blonde, which I’m assuming was the intention. egajdzis (6502) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, toffee, clove, light smoke, and some citrus as well. Taste of citrus, burnt bread, toffee, some clove, banana, and a sweeter finish. dmac (6210) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2011
750 ml cork and caged bottle shared by pineypower, thanks Dean. Poured a cloudy orange body underneath a smaller foamy off white head. Aroma of super light smoke, apples and grapes, peanutts, flower stems. The body is nice with a medium to slightly thinner body and a creamy mouthfeel that really foams up once it passes your lips. Flavor has a lot more smoke then the aroma with additional notes of peanut butter and jelly, no lie, more apple, grains. Meh.....it’s diferent but not in love with this one. At the Iron Hill Belgium Comes to West Chester event yesterday. Blonde. A bit bland and not the best idea, but not offensive. Smoke not overpowering, but not all that welcome. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 4, 2012
750ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, slight smoke, oranges, and hopcitrus. Poured orange in color with a small, loose, off-white head that disappeared very quickly. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, smoke, sugar, and ash. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, smoke, sugar finish is lightly dry.
