Bottle 8/200. Black with a khaki head. Wood, sticky, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate. Great palate, chewy malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. Tmoney99 (14766) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a reddish black color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, vanilla, soy sauce and alcohol aroma. Heavy dark sweet toasted dark chocolate malt flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer. alexsdad06 (10589) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2014
750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a dark brown to black color with asmall beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, wood. Good flavor good mouthfeel. Some of the abv shows, but that’s okay. b3shine (9025) - Indiana, USA - FEB 26, 2014
750 ml bottle to snifter (2012 vintage; bottle #33 of 200; thanks alexsdad06). Looks solid; some light sediment though. A fairly opaque dark brownish black with thin light beige lacing. Smells of sou sauce, dark malt, dark chocolate, and some roast. Tastes like it smells with something tingly that I can’t put my finger on...maybe tart cherry semi-masked by the rest of the beer. Solid on the palate with a fairly dry mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

750ml bottle, shared by alexsdad06. 33/200. 2012 vintage. Black color, with a thin kind of bubbly airy light brown head, some splotches of lace. Roast, vanilla, brownie in the nose. Taste is a little bit sweeter than expected, with some vinous notes. Smooth, soft, moderate strength carbonation. Kind of a softer, stronger, belgiany type carbonation, more carbonated and soft than I’d like. Really nice bourbon vanilla aroma though. Goes well with the dark chocolate notes. Hint of cola. Lightly cloying sweet. pilgrimoutlaw (888) - Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2014
On tap at Iron Hill North Wales. Pours dark reddish black, with thick tan head that quickly dissipates. Roast, toffee, vanilla, alcohol, dark fruits. Moderately bitter and sweet. Full bodied with light crispness and a little astringency. Probably the best Iron Hill beer I’ve had. dmac (6392) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Draft at Maple Shade during the barrel aged beers event. Poured a darker shade of brown with burgundy edges and a dark foamy quick fading head. Aroma of syrupy chocolate, light bourbon, vanilla beans, coccoa powder. Medium bodied with average to stronger carbonation and a long lingering flavor. Flavor has some noticeable alcohol throughout, vanilla extract, bourbon, dark chocolate, dry dark toast, hint of toffee and molasses. Probably one of the best beers of the day. Tap at brewpub, pours black with medium caramel colored head, good sticky lacing. Aromas and taste of heavy barrel, chocolate, roasted malt, sweet bourbon, vanilla, plum, and light licorice. Layered and balanced beautifully. Light carbonation, smooth palate. Easily my favorite of the event and maybe the best Iron Hill I have tried so far. budznsudz (582) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - MAR 2, 2013
