750ml c&c bottle from Maple Shade. Poured a murky mud brown with a frothy off white head. Aroma is bad chocolate, peat, earth, berry skins, bad dough, paste, raisin, rotting banana. Flavor is the same as the aroma, lots of rotting banana, chocolate and yeast. Interesting beer. ffaoe (838) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - DEC 31, 2015

On tap at the brewpub in Media, PA.
Pours with a red-copper body that has good clarity and highlights. Very good head and a good bit of sticky lacing.
Good bitter-sweet balance leans slightly sweet. No sour or other off notes. Some faint peat and vanilla notes and a touch of smoke in the finish and aftertaste.
Medium body and soft carbonation.

I’m not a huge fan of scotch ales, but this one blew me away! I sampled this beauty on draft at the Phoenixville restaurant. It poured a deep amber color with a purple-ish hue. The head was off-white and laced very nicely around the inside of the glass. The nose was sweet, malty and hinted at spices and alcohol. The flavors were complex, full-bodied and extrememly delicious. The character was smooth and very drinkable. I tasted sweet malts, caramel, yeast, warming alcohol and crisp, bright hops. The beer finished sweet and smooth with a punch of hops and alcohol. nimbleprop (8591) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - SEP 4, 2013
This was a 2009 750ml bottle I have had in the cellar for the past four years. Pours a slightly watery, caramel amber with some swirling white head. Nose has some dirt, brown malt, prune, a little dried citrus peel, a little cream soda, cardboard. Flavor sort of jumps the shark, malty but not too sweet, prune, very dried raisin, dirt, cardboard, bath water. Dirty finish. I think this is probably 2 years past it’s prime. italianjohn (3186) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 5, 2013
