COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For this seasonal offering, we started with Irish Death, our dark smooth ale that presents a full malt flavor laced with caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, and a touch of sweetness. To this heavenly ale, we added fresh, locally roasted espresso beans and pure cocoa. The result is a bit of confusion, “should this go in my coffee mug, or my pint glass?” Answer: both. This beer is up front with enormous coffee aroma, with the cocoa playing the sideline, until the taste. Lacking bitterness, the flavor comes forward with a rounded balance of coffee blending gracefully with the creamy malt body and soft cocoa flavors. Dark beer, chocolate, and coffee.

Editors Note: Originally brewed as the Beer Shoppe 3rd Anniversary Ale.

If you like mochas and stouts this is one of the best combinations of those two that I’ve had. Very strong but smooth coffee flavor with just a hint of chocolate.

Deep dark mahogany with a tan grey head that does not last. Shit, this is a barrel or wood aged beer. fuck. Well, smells of red wine and cocoa. slight vinegar wood flavor that is very sweet. Cherry in the finish. Thin body. Too much other stuff, not enough mocha stuff. the rate beer mobile app sucks.

Location: 22 oz bottle obtained through Tavour Appearance: Dark Brown opaque. Firm head of tan bubbles. Nose: Black coffee bitters, deeply roasted malt. Taste: black coffee. touch of deeply caramelized sugar Body: a bit thinner than expected. And fluid without texture Parting thoughts: an average stout with little to write about other than the name.

Buckeye boy picked this up for me. Thanks buddy. Pours out dark brown with light tan head. Lots of coffee on the nose but nothing over powering. Flavor is more of the same coffee with some dark chocolate accents. Medium body and a bit thin. It sweetens a bit as it warms but not enough to make this standout. There isn’t anything in here that can cause "mocha death", not even close. Meh

Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - DEC 6, 2015
Pours a dark brown color with a dark malt and chcolate aroma. Taste is dark roast, coco, and coffee melded into a burnt beer flavor. Overall this beer was very complex but too dark and burnt for me.

Paid a very reasonable $4.49 from the COOP... much more expensive at other places around town... Enjoyed tonight from my CBC Teku. Very clear deep dark walnut brown... not exactly black.. khaki head rises up and dies back just as quickly.. splotch lacing behind... coffee shows in the nose a little bit more than the cocoa.. nice and well integrated... Tastes very much like a mocha but without the lactos sweetness.. Pretty good, but honestly it is a bit watery and could use a bigger body. Tasty and certainly a good price.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Nose is lots of milk chocolate sweetness vanilla and plenty roast malts. Taste is more of the sweet chocolate and roast malts.
