COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by the brewery’s founder, Quilter’s Irish Death is what we call a dark, smooth, ale. Any attempt at classifying it just ends up sending beer geeks into a style guidelines diatribe. So forget style guidelines. Is your pursuit of micro beer about tasting copies of a style that fit guidelines anyways? (Neither is ours) Irish Death is a malt bomb. We lovingly refer to it as beer candy. We heart our candy store. While tempting to session this beer, the name is a necessary reminder that despite the surprising approachability, this beer weighs in at a hefty 7.8% ABV.

Roasted grain aroma. Dark brown in appearance with a decent head. Balanced malt and roasted character and very smooth. Lovely mouth-feel and texture. Overall great beer for just drinking...

Draft in Port Angeles WA. Aroma is sweet malt. Dark brown color with beige head that fades, good lacing. Flavor is sweet malt, a little nut, raisin. Med body with soft carbonation. Easy drinking but not so memorable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap in Boise Idaho. Essentially black but clear body with an excellent tan head and sticky lacing. Aroma: higher ABV evident along with dark roasted grains. Flavor follows the aroma, with some booze, dark bread and spicy hops. Overall: too boozy and hot.

Had it on my golf trip. It was the best I found that wasn't a normal beer on the cart. You're welcome ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Served this ale after volunteering at a mountain bike race. Had no idea what it was. Love at first sip. Kinda buzzed after one can too!

Draft @ RL, GEG. Aroma is sweet malt. Dark brown color with beige head that fades, good lacing. Flavor is sweet malt, a little nut, raisin. Med body with a little carbonic bite. Very good beer! No real style. A little like a Belgian Dubbel. Does not taste it’s strength.

12 ounce can. The beer is a dark brown with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has sweet nutty notes, caramel, some mild ash notes. The taste is sweet and sugary up front, but as it sits on the tongue, more bread crumb notes develop. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Can. Really dark brown. Not sure what to make of this. ..its kind of homeless. Its like a strong ale meets dry stout. Not sure why its sweet stout.

Can from Downtown Spirits. Dark brown black colour, nice slightly off white foam. Lots of interesting dark malt flavours, but not roasty or bitter, sweet, caramel, treacle, sugar. Lacks bitterness to cut through it. And it tastes kind of hot and boozy. Might be interesting in small doses with dessert but otherwise just a bit cloying.
