COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by the brewery’s founder, Quilter’s Irish Death is what we call a dark, smooth, ale. Any attempt at classifying it just ends up sending beer geeks into a style guidelines diatribe. So forget style guidelines. Is your pursuit of micro beer about tasting copies of a style that fit guidelines anyways? (Neither is ours) Irish Death is a malt bomb. We lovingly refer to it as beer candy. We heart our candy store. While tempting to session this beer, the name is a necessary reminder that despite the surprising approachability, this beer weighs in at a hefty 7.8% ABV.

Draught @ the brewery. Pours a mostly opaque dark brown with a thin beige head. Nose is rye bread and grains. Flavour is sweet bready grains with a lasting semi sweet malt character.

12 oz. can from poisonneddwarf - thanks again! Pours a deep, cloudy chestnut brown with a small beige head that settles into a ring and some others of film. Notes of chocolate, vanilla, dried dark fruits, toasted brown sugar, nuts, banana, and fudge. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet, earthy mouthfeel that has a dash of umami. It’s okay.

Thick and consistent head with light caramel color. Strong chocolate aroma. Dark reddish brown color that has some clarity. Smooth texture with a late bite. Chocolate and coffee flavor notes. Grassy aftertaste that dissipates quickly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

chinchill (5071) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 9, 2017
On tap in Boise Idaho. Essentially black but clear body with an excellent tan head and sticky lacing. Aroma: higher ABV evident along with dark roasted grains. Flavor follows the aroma, with some booze, dark bread and spicy hops. Overall: too boozy and hot.

Had it on my golf trip. It was the best I found that wasn't a normal beer on the cart. You're welcome ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Served this ale after volunteering at a mountain bike race. Had no idea what it was. Love at first sip. Kinda buzzed after one can too!

Draft @ RL, GEG. Aroma is sweet malt. Dark brown color with beige head that fades, good lacing. Flavor is sweet malt, a little nut, raisin. Med body with a little carbonic bite. Very good beer! No real style. A little like a Belgian Dubbel. Does not taste it’s strength.
