3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz Bottle. The pour was a murky dark brown with a small (less than 1 finger) light brown fizzy head that diminished in a matter of seconds, down to just a small collar with fair light lacing.
The aroma was somewhat mild with a roasted chocolate malt and a light doughy yeast with notes of dark fruit (raisins and dates), coffee, cola, molasses and a mild alcohol tinge.
The taste was a bold malty sweet with a good strong dark fruit presence and a hint of molasses and maybe chocolate from the beginning, and then took on a nice bold roastiness with a touch of coffee and a nice mellow alcohol ending. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, and what was left behind is still somewhat of a tasty mystery to me.
Mouthfeel was just about medium in body with a thin dry texture and a fizzy carbonation.
Overall the brewer is correct, I just can not put this one into any one style category. All I know is it is damn tasty and I like it...
Thick and consistent head with light caramel color.
Strong chocolate aroma.
Dark reddish brown color that has some clarity.
Smooth texture with a late bite.
Chocolate and coffee flavor notes.
Grassy aftertaste that dissipates quickly.

On tap in Boise Idaho.
Essentially black but clear body with an excellent tan head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: higher ABV evident along with dark roasted grains.
Flavor follows the aroma, with some booze, dark bread and spicy hops.
Overall: too boozy and hot.

Had it on my golf trip. It was the best I found that wasn't a normal beer on the cart. You're welcome

Served this ale after volunteering at a mountain bike race. Had no idea what it was. Love at first sip. Kinda buzzed after one can too! ibrubeer (383) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 16, 2017
Draft @ RL, GEG. Aroma is sweet malt. Dark brown color with beige head that fades, good lacing. Flavor is sweet malt, a little nut, raisin. Med body with a little carbonic bite. Very good beer! No real style. A little like a Belgian Dubbel. Does not taste it’s strength. JStax (6482) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 26, 2017
12 ounce can. The beer is a dark brown with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has sweet nutty notes, caramel, some mild ash notes. The taste is sweet and sugary up front, but as it sits on the tongue, more bread crumb notes develop. Medium body and medium carbonation. gregwilsonstl (2504) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 24, 2017
Can. Really dark brown. Not sure what to make of this. ..its kind of homeless. Its like a strong ale meets dry stout. Not sure why its sweet stout.
