On tap at the Bistro -Bal Aged Fest. Only 5 gallons in existence - OMG RARE! Enough to give rarity enthusiasts a serious raregasm. Pours hazy brown in color with a lasting one-finger tan head. The aroma is caramel, oak, vanilla, and peat - pretty nice. The flavor is good but could use a little more intensity as the barrel comes through a little stronger than I’d like. Caramel malts, toffee, peat smoke, and wood. Medium-bodied for the style and fairly dry on the palate. Overall pretty good, but not a standout at this fest. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Tasted at the 2010 Bistro Barrel aged fest. I’m not sure if this is the right listing for this beer since the one at the festival was aged on bourbon chips, but here goes anyway. It pours brownish orange with an orangy head. The aroma is toffee, caramel, wood, vanilla with a slight sour edge. The flavor is dry with some peat and wood. A little toffee and slightly papery. Not bad. Ratman197 (15620) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 20, 2010
On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a hazy dark amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of coffee, oak, vanilla, toffee and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, oak, light coffee and light cocoa with a smooth lingering malty finish.
