Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Fair effort here. Deeply roasted malts, earthy bitterness, bittersweet baking cocoa. A bit of dark chocolate and burnt wood, too. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth at the end with more baking cocoa character. Rich, hefty. jtclockwork (16600) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 10, 2013

On tap @ Ironfire. Black pour with a small tan head. Very roast forward nose, some ash, coffee, and coffee grounds. Licorice, dark fruit, burnt sugar, and a slight nuttiness. The flavor is kind of bitter up front with lots of roasted malt and coffee grounds. Burnt sugar, licorice, dark fruit, burnt nuts, and a hint of alcohol. Bomber from CraftShack. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and there’s a hint of something suggesting cinnamon. Full bodied. Flavor is primarily chocolate. It’s an earthy chocolate. This ale is very dry, tho the label says brewed with honey. Finishes chocolate and dry. Maybe with a honey hint coming out. Or not. Very tasty. Deep brown color, tan head. I can’t say I noticed any honey. Just a straight forward, roasty porter with quite a bit of espresso flavors. allmyvinyl (10624) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 23, 2017
