EFC1878 (315) - Manchester, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - SEP 28, 2008
Bottled. Hazy/murky appearance due to its unfiltered nature. Mainly malt aroma but with pleasing citrus/hop undertones. Sharpness slightly overwhelms malt characteristics, though not to the detriment of the hoppy finish. Lighter than you’d expect from 5.6%. Overall, a very good hand-crafted lager from an underrated brewery.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours orangy amber, cloudy to murky body texture with a mild natural effervescence and very gentle saturation of a natural origin, head is initially big, slowly decreasing to small, frothy in texture, partially lasting, slightly off - white in colour.
Aroma: Very nice pronounced fruity, refreshing hoppyness, lime and explicit lemon, orange and grapefruit, well hopped with very gentle, pure grainy malty sweet back, aroma is explicit and quite well pronounced, intensive and moreover slightly flowery apart from dominating herbal notes, leaves, bark, resin, cardboard and dry herbs, finish duration is moderate.
Flavour: Very gentle notes of blackberries, wildberries, bramble, soft to moderate alcoholic in its taste, citrus, notes of fresh lemon and yellow orange, finish feel is lightly astringent and average even to strong in alcohol. Nice from the point of viev of being unpasteurized and unfiltered.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is moderate astringent.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - AUG 2, 2008
Bottle, 10 months past bbe. Murky orange yellow, firm pale head. Nose is lightly honeyish, mineral, little hops, overall quite neutral. Sweetish malty flavor, honey, little mineral finish. Medium bodied, strongly carbonated palate. Even when this old it’s alright, and probably a lot better fresh.

OldMrCrow (2434) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 22, 2007
Bottle purchased in Berlin.

Pours a cloudy amber with a small head and a mild aroma of dusty hay and peanut shells. Flavor of honeydew melon with a whisper of lemon, and dry grass in a field, faint pepper and almost something like rye yielding to a reasonable hop bitterness for the close. Sparkling mouthfeel.

Overall quite enjoyable, beautifully crafted, and definitely thirst-quenching, but not a beer that one would seek out for excitements sake.
