Cask conditioned at The Wheel Inn, Bowling Green, near Sway, Hampshire. Dark amber with cream head. This was a full, toasty, maltybitter, there is quite a nutty character to it. Full and tasty. Reasonable.

Cask at the rising sun berko. Reddy / copper coloured pour with a fading loose off white head. Aroma is tart red berry. Sweet caramel. Cakey, fruit came. Flavour is composed of nutty, fruit cake, spicy, liitlle hot alcohol, solvent. Palate is medium sweet, moderate condition. Lingering rum soaked cake.

Cask conditioned handpump Coach & Horses Wellingborough. A ruby coloured beer with a loose whitish head. The aroma was a bit tart with fruity berries. Overwhelmingly malty rather than hoppy. Very astringently bitter in the mouth although got a bit bready towards the end. I hope this wasn’t 100%
