Ever since we started brewing, we have always aimed to brew a “pure” and “clean” American Pale Ale. At Ise Kadoya, we capitalize on the characteristics of the Cascade hops by balancing the sweetness, body and bitterness of the aroma. We were very fortunate to be recognized by beer professionals with an award at the Australian International Beer Awards in 2003. Because we only use Cascade hops in our Pale Ale, the aroma differs slightly from batch to batch based on the particular characteristics of each years’ harvest. We invite you to enjoy the wonderful aromas and flavor that only Cascade hops can deliver.

omhper (25831) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAY 19, 2009
Draught at Eni-bru, Osaka. Clear golden, small head. Fresh citric nose. Mid-dry and light-medium bodied. Crystallic and caramelly backdrop to citric yuzy hops. Drinkable and freshening aromatic US style pale ale with medium bitterness.

Leighton (22555) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2010
Bottle. Pours a hazy, orange-gold with a soft, white head. Pleasant, hoppy aroma with malty notes. Flavor has wonderful balance. Begins sweet with light bread and caramel, then goes into bitter territory. The hop presence is quite strong, a touch that I quite liked. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes lightly sweet with lingering, though not excessive, hops. Very good. I’m surprised by some of these low rates.

Theis (15151) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 14, 2009
Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Cloudy amber - white head. Grape fruity, pineapples, light yeasty, bitterness, light pilsner malty, fresh hoppy, light honey sweetness.

Tmoney99 (15040) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 31, 2010
Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium chalk dry bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would not recommend this to a freind.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 21, 2009
50cl bottle. Large off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange/floral, light grapefruit, honey, bread. Taste is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, some straw, light bread, honey. Light-medium body, light acidity. Tasty APA -- were it at SNPA prices, i’d surely buy it again.

Camons (13405) - Hasselager, DENMARK - APR 14, 2014
Draught @ Brasserie 4:20, Rome. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, biscuit, sweet fruity hops. Flavor is malt, biscuit, little fruit, grassy hops, straw. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry finish. 090414

hopscotch (11322) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2009
Bottle… Hazy golden ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is floral and sweet – caramelized grains and honey. Medium to full-bodied with gentle carbonation. Sweet, floral essence of orange blossom honey is nearly balanced by metallic hop bitterness – nickel and/or iron. Mid-length, bittersweet finish with a metallic tinge on the outside and back of my tongue. A big SHOUT goes out to dmschefke for providing this unique beer!

faroeviking (11264) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - APR 12, 2017
Botella. Unclear amber colour, huge white head, frothy, well lasting. Heavy fruity hoppy aroma indeed (like really more IPA more than PA), lots of pine, light acid (in a good way). Flavour is fresh with a good very present fruity piney hoppiness, citrus, caramel and malt. Pleasant indeeed!

gnoff (11065) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 12, 2014
50 cl bottle at a tasting on October 30, 2013 (backlog). Thanks to Ingo!
Marked Nikenjayamochi Kadoya Honten Pale Ale at 5%.
Clear golden color, small white head. Sweet, acidic, sour, Brettanomyces scent. Thin, Brettanomyces, weird bitter taste. Astringent, bitter, husky, high attenuated aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel, high strange bitterness.

KyotoLefty (10726) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 31, 2008
Draught at Qbrick. Great fruit and hop nose, with grapes or cherries and citrus. Light and crisp, good light malts to balance. Very enjoyable.
