COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A dark, dry stout brewed using pale, crystal, chocolate and wheat malts together with un-malted roasted barley. Golding and Bramling Cross hops are used for the bittering, giving a fruity edge to the dry bitterness that comes from using highly roasted malts. Late additions of Bramling Cross hops to the boil add another dimension to the aroma of the beer.

can’t describe in detail, drank it one week ago. But more stout than porter.

(bottle, courtesy of pivnizub) Dark brown to black coloured hue with a brown mid-sized foamy head. Roasted malty aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, leather, as well as a tinge of grassy hops. Roasty bitter flavour, light bodied with a calm carbonation. Dry roast-malt character with loads of coffee and dark chocolate; dry and bitter finish joined by a moderate level of sourness. Not particularly rounded but still likeable. 03.II.16

Bottle(picked up @Manufactum Waltrop): Literally black, mid-sized creamy tanned head, that slowly collapses; dry toasty-roasty nose, traces of bitter chocolate and - maybe - hints of caramel; dry and solid bitter flavour, a subdued sweetness is barely detectable, indeed; not too light bodied; lingering and astonishingly soft bitter roasty finish, some malty spots work as a counterweight. Nice brew…

Bottle split at Mother Arch, thanks to Leighton, 21/03/15. Light black with a decent tan covering that retains well. Nose is tarte dark fruit rinds, light smoke, red berry linger, malted notes. Taste comprises light band aid, tangy dark fruits, red berry tang, charr, spice, earthy cocoa. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok unintentional sour wild !!!

50cl Bottle, tfs Leighton! Black colour, big light-beige head. Aroma of some band-aid, funk, peat, earth, roasted malts. Flavour is light ashy, funky, peat, some iodine, seems to have a beginning infection, some lemon. Light bodied.

Bottle shared in Bermondsey, thanks to Leighton. Pours a dark reddy brown with a tan head. Aroma is sour and leathery. Medium body, medium carbonation. It’s soured, but still maintains some nice flavours - lemon, dark choc, coffee... Not right, but not awful.
