Notes from trip to Scotland summer 2014. Bottle. Pours amber-gold with a big frothy head settling to a nice rim on top of the beer. The aroma is fuity and yeasty, with a malt backbeat. The taste is malty and grainy, with some spice coming through in the second wave, followed by a long bitter aftertaste. Not a bad a beer at all, but rather full in the mouth and thus quite filling. berntholer (1619) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
ivorywhite head leaves some lacing. dark blonde colour. aroma is metalic, butter. taste like arome with a wry bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. bottle 50cl Alengrin (6005) - BELGIUM - AUG 19, 2014
Blonde ale from the Isle of Skye brewed with oats. Firm and creamy, yellowish white head, colour warm orange blonde, calm sparkling, lightly misty. Subtle and rather delicate aroma of lemon, cheese, toasted bread, oatmeal porridge, cream, walnuts and grassy hops. Rounded fruitiness in the mouth, fresh citrus touch, spicy hoppiness with a tonic water-like quality too it without becoming harsh, long finish. Enjoyable. allmyvinyl (11308) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 7, 2014

Bottle version. Pours dark golden straw color with small white head. Light grassy malt aroma. Flavor and palate are creamy and oaty. When served at the correct temp (I.e., not too cold) it's like a golden stout. Easy to drink ESB.

Bottle, Hectors Cafe, Kyle of Lochalsh. This was served chilled to me in Kyke just off the Isle of Skye. The chill ruined any early appreciation of smell and taste. So while warming in it in the palm of my hands I wondered why the brewery don’t tell the vendors not to serve it so cold.
That apart it’s a pale ale with some biscuity, malty notes. Hopping is moderate and flowery. The head retention was OK. It quenched my thirst but there was nothing living about this ale. Probably pasteurised, I must check. gowdy (1116) - Erskine, SCOTLAND - MAR 8, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2015 Pint in the Chlachain in Mallaig. Deep golden colour. Quite light consistency. Not much head. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2014
Cask at local pub in lovely village of Plockton nr Skye. Amber looks with a small white head. Gentle malt and hop notes in the nose. Flavour was similar with some notes of yeast and grain. Fairly reserved bitterness. Drinkable and seemed fresh but on the whole unspectacular. Didn’t really pick up on the Porridge factor !
