Bottle. Tawny Red in colour. Malty; grainy/toasty malts, caramel. Fruity; raisins and dark fruits. Hoppy; grassy hops. Hint of smoke. Rather cloying mouthfeel. Bitter sweet malty throughout. (2009-05)

Didn’t enjoy this at all. Thought I had a bad bottle until I read the other reviews concerning the sour aftertaste. Shame as I’d had a lovely Scottish Red ale a few days before and was hoping for similar quality.

From bottle at OSB 30.11.16. Chestnut brown. Foamy and persistent beige head and lacing. Aroma of medium dark malt, brittle and red fruits. Similar taste. Good quaffability!

Aroma; roasted malts, grass, walnut, caramel, sweet wood, dark berries. Look; pearl head, dark copper body. Taste; brown malts, roasted malts, caramel, grass, toffee n nougat n wood note - finishes into the malty side. Feel; normal body, natural carbonation. Overall; likeable. Bottle 500ml. Red-brown with a thin white head. A fairly standard mild bitter, some malty notes low on the hops. Aftertaste is a bit sour. Good with food, but not something I’d drink on its own for pleasure...

Bottle in scotland. Light mahagony colour, head disapears immediately. Nose is roasted malts. Wtf its a red beer. Taste is taste is low sourness low bitterness. Light somoke. Wtf is this. Notnas horrbe as he scores suggest but feels like someone put ingredients together randomly.

500ml bottle, Asda. Dark red colour, decent head. Sweet caramel aroma worth some grassy hops. Very slightly watery but refreshing with a medium sweet light bitter taste.

Aroma is subtle. Herbs, fruit, cream. Brown red coloured with a creamy Tan head, lasting, lacing. Taste is one off the better ones this trip. (Which was more a whisky-exploration for me). Grainy, barley, light malt, toasted bread, something fruity. Round soft mouthfeel.

StilleStorm (1583) - Stavanger, NORWAY - FEB 27, 2016
DWF; Bottle 500ml., from Det Gode Brygg. Pours moderate, clear cobber with a creamy, lasting and lacing off-white head. Nose is shy to moderate, malt, dark fruit, nuts, grass and spice. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a lasting fruit and spice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

BlackHaddock (8073) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2015
500ml bottle drank on 25th Sep 2015 during a random tasting evening I had with myself at home. Amber body with an off-white head, slight red hint to help with the beers name. Mild malty aroma and taste with a hop bitterness below the surface, getting stronger towards the end of each gulp. Expected more to be honest, lacks interest and character.
