Cask. Dark brown with a medium sized beige head. Lots of treacle; brown sugar, molasses, but also some roasted malt, cocoa, light coffee, sweet licorice. Who knows, maybe some hops too. Medium body, soft and filling, sweetness nicely balanced by finishing bitterness. I guess this brew is a mood thing, but I like that it has lots of dark sugar and malt flavour without being too sweet. Would buy again. jfb (6984) - GERMANY - JAN 12, 2015

Cask, handpump at The Palace, Kirkgate, Leeds, W.Yorks 18.03.12 in company of dad & Barry Dark, dark brown in colour with a small creamy head. Touch dry and roasty with some bitterness, and a dab of creamy vanilla. I get the treacle but only slightly. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2 AshtonMcCobb (7029) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 4, 2012
On tap at the Haymarket Bar. Pours opaque black with a proportionate head. The nose is smokey, sweet and milk chocolate, in fact it’s Crunchie Bar. The taste has treacle, smoke and cream. The palate is medium to large in both structure and texture. There is a lovely smooth, charcoal finish. Overall, a great beer. MalcolmTucker (924) - SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2012
Cask. Pours an appealing black with tan head. Chocolate, coffee and liquorice in both flavour and aroma. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A nice beer but more roast malt would be an improvement.

On tap at the Magpie. Opaque black stout, nice cream - tan head. Smooth silky palate, has body. Semi dry and with mild carbonation. Lacto creamy dark malt, a tiny bit of raost. Trace of bubblegum ester. Minerals. Turns fairly bitter before the smooth finish. Mild malty bitter aftertaste. No real treacle. Decent.
Black with thin white head. Treacle and a little chocolate on nose, more treacle plus hints of liquorice and strawberry on palate. Nice full body with burnt bitter and liquorice finish. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2012
