Growler from Big Z Beverage. Pours a dark brown with a very small white head. Aroma of roasted nuts, spices (pepper, clove), and Belgian yeast. Flavor is quite spicy upfront with some roasted nuts and malty character as well. Pretty decent, more like a BSA than saison though.

Bottle by way of j12601. Pours a murky brown with a 2 finger off-white head. The nose is light chocolate, Belgian spice and malt. The taste is spicy yeast, chocolate covered bananas, fruity esters, malt and light hops in the finish. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Interesting beer – Not bad at all. Thanks again Jay. Tap at browerij lane. Poured a rich mahogany with a thin off white head. It’s got a nice sour and yeasty nose. Some light sour notes and fairly full bodies for the style. There is a bit of an alcohol bite which overpowers the sour by the finish. Not a traditional saison but not a bad beer. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2009
Dark amber brown color, murky. Aroma is sweet and earthy. Flavor is very green, fresh cut grass, pepper, celery and cardboard. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2009
Growler filled at Big Z and consumed the same day. Pours a clear reddish brown with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left very light lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and Belgian yeast. The flavor is very similar with malt and Belgian yeast both dominating with just a bit of fruit as well. Very mild sweetness. I would not have have imagined this as a saison. Nice solid beer as it is.

Thanks to Matt. Carbonated and dark in color. Nothing like a saison as description here reads. Vanilla. Malty. Some caramel. Nice. coldbrewky (1730) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - SEP 29, 2009
Sixer of longnecks from the Patels’ rip and run. Nose of falling leaves and moist soil. Pleasantly musty. Pours a deep ruby brown with a thin tan head. Light bodied. an interesting yeasty spicyness that drifts directly to finish. Nice. AskForJenny (1086) - Ontario, New York, USA - SEP 28, 2009
12oz bottle purchased at brewery. Toffee color, tall tan head, mild yeasty nose. Yeast and malt on palate with a classic sour Belgian signature. A real winner for me. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 21, 2009
Growler from j12601. Pours a brown color, with a nice tan head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with a slight funk/tartness to it. Flavor is good. Fruity, funk, caramel and a bit dry. Nice brew. Changed (462) - Ithaca, New York, USA - SEP 18, 2009
12 oz. Pours just barely opaque brown- little bit of dark copper shines through. Head is off-white or beige. Good lacing. Aroma of banana and bubble gum (well said Brewbie). Flavor is fruity with lots of yeast-i-ness. Dark fruit finish is really tasty. I live in Ithaca, and this may be my favorite beer from them, ever.
