Oct. 22, 2011; on tap last evening at "The Huddle On Main", Waterville, NY. Always interested to try an American brewer’s stab at a Belgian style. This one, although not unpleasant, was not particularly impressive, and was all over the place stylistically. Will have to give it a more leisurely try soon, and re-rate accordingly.
Bottle 0,33l. Pours a deep amber colour with off white head. Aroma is spicy, toast, nuts and roasty. Taste is sweet with some light bitters on the finish. Medium bodied, smooth texture.

The body has a dark brownish color with reddish highlights. The pour produced only a small tan head which quickly fades to wispy thin covering. Lacing is minimal and very slick, sliding right down the sides of the glass. Its aroma is pleasantly sweet, fruity, estery and yeasty. The flavor starts with sweet malty, bready and earthy yeasts notes for the base. As it warms some mild dark fruity notes come out along with a hint of spice and hops. It finishes with a sort of sweet and funky fruity yeast thing going on. The texture has a firm smooth feel with mild carbonation.

Malty with some nice Belgian yeast flavors. Dark and some slight hop bitterness, but a bit too malty and thick to have much at all. Good beer, but would not want many of them.

Pours a dark caramel reddish color with a white head. Aroma is very caramel and sweet. Flavor is very rich with a very Belgian yeast finish. Overall not bad probably won’t drink another one because of the style. Nejhleader (1550) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2014

Bottle. Dark brown with a 1 finger off white head that dissipates quickly. Tiny bubbles everywhere for the first few minutes but it settles quickly. Aroma had a weird root beer like note out of the bottle but it doesn't last long. Aroma settles into lots of apple and floral yeast. Taste starts there ands some roasty malt and spices. Light caramel notes throughout. Slick syrupy palate and moderate carbonation. Not bad. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - JAN 6, 2014

12oz bottle from Manahawkin Spirits. Pours a dirty brownish amber color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of toasted amber malts, Belgian yeast, bubblegum, banana, and nail polish remover. Taste of toasted malt, brown bread, Belgian yeast, sour rotted bananas, and clove. Meh MrJAO773 (10) - New York, USA - OCT 21, 2013
The dark malt flavor is delicious. This is a seasonal favorite that should not be missed.
