Bottle shared by Jack. Pours a murky, poop water brown with a thin sudsy off white head. Nose is lightly fruity, some cereal malt, granny smith apples, caramel. Flavor is all sorts of weirdlightly smokey and goaty, toffee malts, ugh.

Bottle. Cloudy reddish color with a small tan head. huge, wet, hop aroma. Some caramel sweetness in the background. first taste is a real mix of flavors to sort out. Hops, sweetness. Bit of a burn in the finish offset by the touch of sweetness and hops.

Bottle at Dadsgiving! Pours a hazed amber brown with a thin white head. A bit of malt, faint hops. Sweet initially, medium-bodied, spicy and malty, hoppy and bitter but not right away. Finishes still sweet with some more malt and a bit of grapefruit. Tasty enough but still too sweet.

Clear deep garnet/maroon pour with a thin off white head .... aroma of smokey malts, caramel, roasted malts and some hints of earthy hops .... taste is of smoked and roasted malts with some caramel and light citrusy/piney hops and some booze is definitely evident .... finish is dry bitter and roasted with a chewy caramel malt ... interesting and very much like a wee heavy to me .... eh

Bottle at craft ale house. Pours deep mahogany with with a small tan head that quickly dissipates. The aroma has a mix of nutty maltiness and hoppy astringency. The taste is almost a mix of ipa and brown ale. Semi bitter with a nutty sweet finish.

pours a deep chestnut/ruby color with a thick tan head. aroma is very caramely and roasty with some earthy and light citrusy hops. flavor is earthy/boozy up front with lots of roastiness, roasty bitterness, slight caramel and nuttiness...almost dark chocolate Mouthfeel is medium/full and resinous with a roasty/earthy and dry...warming to something like dark chocolate. well made but too malty for me.

12oz bottle from FLBC. Pours syrupy, dark amber, small tan head. Aroma is largely smoke. Flavor is smokey, but less so, tons of malt, sweet sweet booziness, and a little dry hop finish. Upon warming, the booze is quite noticeable. Drink it slow, on a cold night, and dont consider it anything like a DIP. Barleywine it is, like the Millenium Oak Aged from a little south of here...
