COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with vintage local Hops, American Barley, Wheat and Corn, Brute is fermented on Oak for many months with Brettanomyces, then finished with a blend of three Champagne yeasts. Enjoy the turbid citron hue, mature aroma, brash tartness and dry, quenching sparkle.

RBSG grand taste. Hazy yellow pour, white head. Funky and sour nose, floral hoppy taste. Really nice!

Appearance: Pours a golden color with lots of visible carbonation flowing to the surface. The head rises 1.5" tall with lots of foaminess and shows great retention. Spotty lace clings to the glass. Smell: Tart and funky. Acrid apples, brettanomyces, horseblanket, some dormant lemon citrus. Slight hop aroma as well. Perfect for me. Taste: Funky, sour and tart. This beer screams Belgian at the top of its lungs. Oak, apple, brett, lemon, horseblanket are all flavors. There are so many more complexities. Mouthfeel: Effervescent, lightly bodied, tart, funky and oaky. Some tannins soaks through. Lingering tartness and sourness. Alcohol is there, but not in a big way. Drinkability: Incredible. I had high hopes for this brew and I got my socks knocked off. Everything that you could want in a beer. Plenty of complexity and thirst quenching properties. One of my new favorites for sure.

750mL bottle during RBWG thanks so some kind soul! Golden pour with a fizzy, bubbly off-white head. Light funk, and light sour, lots of complex fruit esters and light oak, light malts. The flavor is lightly tart, plenty of carbonation, a bit of funk, more fruitiness and pale malts. Nice!

Batch E!010 - opened last night I’ve been waiting a long time to open this one. Purchased during a tasting event at the old Spuyten Duyvil shop in Brooklyn. The appearance is perfectly clear with substantial carbonation. I have to say the nose, and the taste were both much more champagne forward than sour, and while this was an amazing beer it didn’t hit me to the level that the Cantillon’s were that we were drinking, but without a doubt if I could ever get another bottle I’d be all over it.

Batch E!018. Pours clear golden orange with a thick white head. The nose is big lemony lactic sour, some really funky barnyard notes and leather. The taste is high medium sweet and high sour with low bitter. Nice sour finish. The texture is crisp and super clean, the body is light with a long finish. Got better.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Dave. Huge thanks for this one! Pour is hazy peach in appearance with a big white head and decent lacing. Big bretty aroma - pineapple, mango, peach skin, flower petals - lemon peel, straw, a touch of funk, and horse blanket in the aroma. Taste is big tangerine, sour fruits, peachy, brett, light urine, somewhat funky, and woody. Medium body with high carbonation. Seriously tasty sour and this one has aged beautifully.
