Pours cola brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and pine. Roasted malt flavor with chocolate, dark fruit, and hint of pine. Great beer! zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUL 18, 2014
(bottle - 750 ml) Dark brown pour with a tan head. Big hoppy aroma, surprising considering its age. Lots of hop bitterness still in it. Flavor has held up well as well. Bitter hops with a spicy hop bite near the middle and a roasty finish with some lingering burnt malt notes. Quite nice. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2014
Pours thick dark dirty coffee with a nice darker caramel head. Aroma brings nice bitter roasted malts and earthy green hops. Flavor is similar bringing roasted piney citrus malts so nice on the tongue. Smooth roasted malty hops, such a great combo. mjhall89 (36) - - APR 13, 2014
Great use of hops in this dark ale. Very flavorful with all the right stout flavors and maybe some figs? Very tasty and malty, without an overbearing after-taste. Nose is just a little deceiving. I just wished they called it what it is: a cascadian dark ale. snoworsummer (5959) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 21, 2013
From a bomber. Pours opaque brown with a frothy off white head. Tastes strongly of raisins, grains, malt. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like raisins and dark fruits, malts, grains.

A: Deep Opaque Hue, Passes Virtually No Light, Off White Head, Decent Lacing
S: Milk Chocolate, Black Bread, Mild Piney, Mild Coffee
T: Milk Chocolate, Bready, Semi Sweet Malts, Mild Roasted Coffee
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium to Full Bodied, Semi Malty
Overall, somewhat mild on the hops but a decent, drinkable Black IPA. bhensonb (15609) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Capped 750 from Half Time. It’s been around awhile. Pours fairly black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is malty and earthy. Med + body. Flavor is malt, chocolate, and some earthy/floral hop. Think this one has been around long enough to lose the original hop intensity. But the chocolate and other flavors make it a good drink.
