Ithaca Thirteen is a cloudy golden ale with lots of clumps and chunks swirling around in it. It’s topped with a thick elastic white foam that has outstanding retention and lacing. I could smell lemon as soon as I popped the bottle open. It has a huge, fresh, hoppy, citrus aroma: Fresh hops and lemon zest! It’s pretty full bodied and super smooth. It disappears from the mouth almost instantly. The finish is dry and clean. This is very hoppy but the bitterness isn’t overbearing at all. The malt just supports the hops here. There’s a little black pepper-- lemon pepper! This tastes great. It’s just like super fresh hops still on the vine. This isn’t very complex but it tastes really darn good. The bottle may be big, but it won’t last long in my hands. HonusWagner (2218) - Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2014
Brute and Le Bleu get the props, but this might be the best Excelsior beer...overwhelming beautiful hoppiness with citrus, spice, tropical fruit notes. Just an incredible beer. I wish it could be made again... DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2011
750 ml bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid orangy dark straw colored with big fluffy white head and spare lace. Nose is..wow..gargantuan tangerine, florals, canteloupe, honeydew; a lot like Dreadnaught or Pliny or Troegs Jamba. Tastes very hoppy, citric, floral, with a big ruby red grapefruit taste, navel orange, black pepper, and a smooth finish. Perhaps a biy malt light, but nonetheless, this one is a hop and citrus bomb, and tastes super fresh and just drips off your watering tongue. Absolkutely delicious, but non IBU freaks and citrus freaks won’t care for this one as much as I do, and frankly, I don’t give a damn about that, Scarlett. Pours a hazy brownish orange with a foamy off white head that laced. Aroma of orange zest, like lemon hints, mango and other tropical fruits. Flavor of strong notes of orange and lemon zest...wow. So fresh and "zesty". The citra and sorachi hops play so well with the citrus zest. What a wonderful pairing. Malt profile is there with some light sweet notes to help balance this out. However overall the beer is dry, crisp and carbonated. GandGKevin (934) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 29, 2011

Bottle shared at Damico’s Philly Beer Week event. Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a white soapy head. Aroma of apricot, orange, and perhaps some honey. Has an absolutely amazing aroma. Intoxicating. Sweet wheat beer taste with a perfect hop layer. Great combination of a wheat beer and a IPA. Aromatic and well balanced. Loved it. superspak (5874) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - AUG 18, 2011
750 ml bottle into snifter, batch E!033. Pours extremely cloudy orange amber color with a fairly dense 2 fingers of off white head with great retention that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap that lasts. Some fairly thick lacing sticks to the glass as well. Aromas of big orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, spices, and a bit of wheat. Damn nice aromas! Super hoppy stuff. Taste of big orange peel, lemon, pine, spices, caramel, and a bit of wheat. Nice amount of bitterness present on the finish, with lingering notes of pine, orange, lemon, and caramel sweetness. Fantastic balance of bitterness and sweetness here, nothing is overwhelming. Medium carbonation and a fairly full body with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Surprisingly, absolutely no alcohol noticed at all for being 9%. Super drinkable as well for the alcohol level. Even though this doesn’t really match up with what I would expect from a wheat ale; this is fantastic with tons of hoppiness and great balance of flavor. egajdzis (6692) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 16, 2011
Lightly hazy, orange amber color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, floral hops, citrus, pine, and tea. Taste of citrus, orange, toast, pine, vanilla, and bitter grapefruit. Jow (4028) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 17, 2011

Pungent Aroma, citrus grapefruit with loads of tropical fruits... hazy golden, small white head, viscous.... lively, creamy, full bodied, dry finish, loads of citrus and tropical fruits, poss some coconut and pineapple, really great flavors... nice creamy body without the flavors being muddled, a mild sweetness that doesnt overpower the hops... starts with citrus, finishes tropical... This beer is amazing...
