12 oz draft pours a hazy golden color with a nice whites head. Aromas of tart fruit, funk, earth. Light bodied and complex, very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Batch E!008
Tasted on 10/15/11 from a capped 750mL bottle that I shared at Smitty’s house. Pours murky light orange with a thick white head, leaving thin, bubbly lace. The nose is lightly fruity with a cheesy note, and some sweeter full cereal malt. The flavor is the same with a hint of caramelized malt. The body is full and creamy with average, very smooth carbonation, and a medium lightly caramelized and lightly fruity finish.

750 ml bottle I’ve had for a long time. Batch E!015. There’s a 2008 registered trademark date on the label, but I think it’s from 2010. It pours a hazy orange that gets hazier and duller as you pour more from the lower part of the bottle, and it has a finger-plus of fizzy white head. The aroma shows its age, with sweet dough, sugar, vanilla, apricot, sweet citrus, and wheaty, bready funk. The flavor has more balance and less mustiness, with apricot, tangerine, peach, wheat, sweet dough, vanilla, and mellow spice. Medium-bodied, with a funky, fruity, wheaty mouthfeel and moderate soft carbonation. Well past its prime, but not bad. I’d like to try a fresher batch for comparison.

Pretty sure this is the beer I had on tap at the Ithaca Ale House, described as Excelsior, an unfiltered rustic style wheat beer. It was straw-yellow, opaque, with a frothy finger of white head that dissipated VERY slowly. Unctuous mouthfeel, silky with body. Nose was bread and citrus and a little funk; taste was almost indescribable, rich with flavors but smoothly balanced. Citrus, spice, yeast, bread, all were in there but none overpowered. Finish was clean, and the beer hides its 8% abv so well you could easily drink yourself silly on this stuff. While it has a bit of a heavy mouthfeel, it isn’t a particularly heavy-tasting beer. It was an unexpected surprise and a very enjoyable one. Very highly recommended.

750ml bottle. Almost but not quite gushing champagne carbonation. Unfiltered hazy orange tan. Funky and zesty. A pretty nice Saison. Massive white head isn’t going anywhere fast. Wheat farmhouse tones, very authentic Belgian feel. A touch of tartness. Delicate fluffy mouthfeel. Quite excellent. World Class. One of the better US Saisons I’ve had.

Rated on 7-28-2012 (Bottle) The appearance of this beer is a large frothy white head with a short retention, yellow hazy body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is malt, wheat, yeasty, funky, citrus, sweet, fruity, and spicy. The flavor is sweet, funky, sour, malty, yeasty, some wheat, citrus, and spice. This beer has a dry finish. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. I do not care for the taste of this beer as all the different flavors do not blend together very well.

Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Mostly hazy pale orange yellow color, large white head. Sweet, tart, bretty, malty aroma. Lots of sweet and tart brett like character in flavor, crisp, refreshing, effervescent, slightly barnyardy.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden color. Huge white head. Smell of wheat and hops. A little bit of fruit character. taste is fruit. Goes down smooth. A little beat of wheat in the taste. Maybe a little Brett?? Either way, it’s pretty good.
